Hi Everyone

I have had several enquiries about the 2014 Donington Historic Festival and am now in a position to provide the relevant information.

Tom and I intend to run a region 8 event there again which is open to all regions/members who wish to join us .

As in previous years, we will have the region's marquee with refreshments and all members buying tickets with the club's code will receive a car pass to bring their Porsche to join us (if, as previous years, then this will on the inside of Redgates corner)

The code to buy two for the price of one tickets is PCGBDHF14

The Donington Park website to buy tickets is

http://www.donington-park.co.uk/

or if you cannot find the link it is

http://www.donington-park.co.uk/events/2014/05/03/donington-historic-festival/

click on buy tickets and you will be then given the chance to put in the club code and buy two tickets for the price of one

(I think you have to buy two for the discount not expect if you buy one you get another free)

Or call 0844 873 7355 to order over the phone

ADVANCE TICKET PRICES (before discount)

ADULT SATURDAY £20.00

ADULT SUNDAY £20.00

ADULT MONDAY £20.00

ADULT 2 DAY WEEKEND (SAT/SUN or SUN/MON) £32.00

ADULT 3 DAY WEEKEND (SAT/SUN/MON) £45.00

PROGRAMME VOUCHER £7.00

Children 13 and under go free if accompanied by a paying adult.

Please note that a booking fee applies and will be added to the above prices.

These advance ticket prices close at 5pm on Friday 25th April 2014.

On the gate prices will be slightly higher than the prices shown above and you will not be able to drive your Porsche into the field to join us

Tickets will be dispatched approx 3 weeks before the event.

We were hoping that more of the infield would be available for car club parking in 2014 but this will be not be until 2015 so if it is wet then parking will be tight and a little inventive! If it is dry - like 2013- then parking will be much less of a problem. This is because we can use the grass.

We can also say that it will be a great weekend of racing and, as usual at Donington Park, a really friendly event.

Cheers

Kerry

Hi Kerry

Happy New Year to yourself and Tom

I have just purchased my 2 for 1 tickets for the Sunday and looking forward to another excellent R8 meeting.

John

Hi there.

I am based in Essex (R11) but this sounds like fun. I cannot make the Silverstone Classic this year and this looks very similar. I am checking out whether I am able to make it up on the weekend in question. Which day is the "best" - I am guessing Sunday or Monday - are members going to be there all 3 days or is there a particular day to come? Obviously nice to meet folks from other regions when the opportunity presents.

Mike

Hi Mike

Originally the Historic was over two days, and last year, for the first time, they had it over 3 days so it grows each year.

The first day (Saturday) I guess this year will be practise and qualifying with the actual racing on Sunday and Monday. The club will have a presence on all three days with Region 8's gazebo with tea and coffee's available and someone to organise the parking.

I suggest you keep a check on http://www.doningtonhistoric.com/the-races/ for more details of the actual races when they are published.

As with the event, the amount of members that attend each year also grows and the last day (previously Sunday but now BH Monday) is the day we have most cars arrive.

Hope this will help with your plans and we look forward to seeing you in May

Cheers

Tom and Kerry

Just booked my tickets for Donnington Historic on Monday (BH, 5th May). Have booked an infield pass so hopefully can join the gang at the gazebo to abuse R8 hospitality [;)].

Mike

Hi Mike

Region 8 look forward to you abusing their hospitality !!! :)

See you in May

Cheers

Tom and Kerry

Hi Kerry & Tom

Booked for the Sunday and look forward to seeing you all again, I am nearing the end of my first year of Porsche ownership and have not managed to make one group meet! unfortunately my job takes me away from home most weeks.

Hi Everyone

Below is the latest car club news from the organisers of the Donington Historic

The most important details to note are the entry and exit times

IMPORTANT: NEW INFIELD CAR ENTRY AND EXIT TIME RESTRICTIONS
This is something which has only been confirmed to us within the past few weeks, so if you registered your club a while ago, you won't be aware of this. If you are communicating with those of your members attending, please ensure that they are aware of this. I will also email everybody who buys a car club ticket to endeavour to get the message through.

Entry to and exit from the infield car club display area will be via a tunnel. Gates open at 7.30 each day, and cars must arrive by 11am and will be allowed to exit via the tunnel again after 3pm each day. In emergencies, movements in and out will be permitted, and we may also create a clubs' car holding area in the outfield by the tunnel, with marshaled movements into the infield at fixed times after 11am and before 3pm "" details of this will be confirmed before the event. We ask you to encourage your members to arrive before 11am "" new Health & Safety rulings from the local council mean that movement into the infield between 11am and 3pm must be restricted.

DONINGTON HISTORIC TRACK DAY
On Friday, May 2nd, as the build-up for DHF 2014 gets underway and the race cars begin to arrive from all over Europe and park up in the Paddock, the Donington Historic Track Day will be taking place. Organised by Bookatrack, this gives you the chance to take your own car round the circuit so you can get to grips with the Craner Curves and enjoy the exhilarating Wheatcroft Straight. You don't need a racing car to enjoy this experience.

Just 50 places have been made available for this day, in order to ensure that everybody gets plenty of time out on the circuit. The track day costs £295 and, for a further £10 a head you can take passengers round with you. And, with the paddock filling up as the racers arrive for the Festival weekend, there will be plenty to see when you're not out on the circuit.

For full details of the event, or to book your place, please visit: http://www.bookatrack.com/event-calendar, telephone +44 (0) 843 2084635 or email info@bookatrack.com.
