Forgot to add, that ideal tyre pressures when hot seem to vary from tyre to tyre. The Hankook USA website reckons you need 40 psi hot as optimum for R compound DOT legal tyres i.e. track day tyres to us. These seems very high to me but at Bedford the grip went at about 42/43 psi but at Haynes recently I seemed to have way more grip and due to the short runs didn't have enough laps to get em really hot so mid 30's hot is probably optimal on the 944 running 225/245 wide tyres on 16".
Basically ignore what I said above IMHO the website is wrong and IMHO our collective experience is nearer the mark.
Don't underestimate how quickly the pressures rise though. I see about 8 psi increase over a 15 to 20 min session in the dry which means they have to be set to low 30's hot before going out again.
