Dun cow 1 star food hygiene

All interesting stuff and so far a mixed bag of comments. In the round I guess The Dun Cow has more positives than negatives and if the Tenants are going to up their game in the Hygiene department then this issue should soon be history. The location I feel is just about bang on for all R3 members and has, as previously stated a huge Car park. The Private room aspect at no charge to the members is also a major plus and we've always felt very at Home their when we go. Unless there is a like for like alternate venue then I believe we should perhaps stick with the DC.

I think the regulars are more than happy with the Dun Cow as a venue for the meetings [;)]

I was really shocked when I heard about this one star rating last meeting. We've eaten there a couple of times since we joined the club and found the food nice. Not gourmet but good pub food. They also do Double Maxim on draft which is a huge plus for me.

Regarding the Church Mouse, I used to go there monthly with the Lotus Seven Club before and though it is an excellent pub with great food, the car park is always very busy. It's a struggle to get parked during the summer months especially. The pub is always very crowded during the evening and we did find it difficult to find tables even for a small number of us, certainly not for thr amount we get in the DC conservatory, and they have no private room that I'm aware of.

I think they need new seats in the conservatory though ;-)

I've never eaten at the Dun Cow but the food always seems to be decent pub grub, it would be a shame to turn our backs on the landlord just because of one bad rating. It's a good run out from where I live but as I mostly give the porker a blast up the A1 I don't have a problem with it.
Remember the grass is always greener, etc etc.
