Some cars were bought in DE by servicemen tax free. When imported to UK 2 or more yrs later they often got a newer 'reg' date and plate making the car appear newer. As a serviceman wanting to sell for a small profit you wouldn't have argued to DVLA about it. Today, we all want the cars to be as early as possible, often arguing with DVLA to get the earlier reg plate. Some with success, some without.
Lux is a UK marketing/sales tool pack. PCGB/AFN applied all the extras for a bargain package price. Lux was not used in any other market. You had to buy all the options individually. This is why many ex services cars are missing one or all of the following - power windows, mirrors, sunroof, rear wiper. Although some of these were added by later owners to upgrade from poverty spec
FYI 77MY cars also had torsion bar covers in front of the rear wheels
