Ebay cars For Sale / Discussions Like or Loathe ?

Why don't we just have a single 'ebay horrors' thread in the same vein as the 'what did you do to your 944 today' thread? Those who want to read it can, those who don't can easily filter out the chatter.

A splendid proposal. That way, any that aren't in the eBay Turgid Tosh Thread we can delete and avoid annoyance.

Great idea, or even better why not stop posting shite eBay For Sale cars on this 944 Forum taking up valuable space.

As others have said we can find them if we really want to see them, but most if not nearly all of us have no interest looking at badly repaired, overpriced, money eating piles of 'Turd'

Can I suggest we rename this thread 'Ebay/auction finds and discussion' or similar and this becomes the thread? Much like 'Porsche spotting' or 'What did you do to your 944 today'. I'm very happy to dip into such a thread (so long as the discussion remains polite and civil, I'm not in any way asking for a thread where the forum rules don't apply). Those who want to avoid it can easily do so.

And delete the RUF and other eBay threads or amalgamate them all into the one thread [:)]

Excellent idea. Also: no throwing toys out of prams if everyone doesn't hold a similar view to you about the cars in question.

It's difficult to know what's a good price these days as I'm not sure if any of the high priced stuff is actually selling?

Or of the market or asking prices are still increasing or have plateaued...

i have noticed quite a few turbos have been up for sale for quite a while,,,,it only takes one person who wants that exact spec and colour and then i guess they will go,,,,£52k s2 at renn sport? suggests it hasnt stopped just yet plus rpm have a low mileage s2 for strong money,,jay

Non-runner with galloping sill-rot. You can see that the sills have been plated over before as well (no diamond above the jacking point). Inner sills and floor could be affected.

Wonder what the actual state of the engine is? Flat battery? Seized? Snapped timing belt and bent valves? Water in oil and spun bearing?

I have to say, that car looks pretty grim...such a shame...it's not that far from me if this is Chesham near Tring. If anyone here is thinking of taking a look and hasn't owned a 944 before and unsure about what to look for I'll happily pop along with you to give a second opinion. I have to say though that the pictures don't do it any favours, whether it's suitable for restoration would require a much closer look.
