This is up aswell and the bidding has commenced!!!!!!

Saw the record book, thought it was a bit pricey though!
But then I actually have the original one for my car so it wasn' t that important to me!
Have picked up a few nice bits from ebay, a magazine add for 911 and 912 and a late 60' s US brochure for the same not sure what year though. I will post up some scans when I get a chance and we can play guess the year!

Miggs you *^&%$£^&*(**%^ *^&%^ it was me.

M

got my 54 in Alex' s we are going to work on it next week Alex reconds I could get up and running for the 356 Int...hmmm we' ll see. I did want to start this in Jan of this year but I only met alex a month ago he saw my 54 6 months ago when he came down to the unit to price up a barn door wreck for welding. He saw my 54 in the corner even though it was covered up and noticed it as a Pre-A with the cover on. GOOD MAN. So here goes 356 int or bust, I' ve gone off miggs now.
te he.
I wanted it as it was 69 my car is 69

sorry m8[:(]

i thought it was someone on here

same as mine m8 69[;)]

i take it alex is the man then for restoring them

Well I think he has a goal that is he is fed up with VW and wants to do Porsche but not only that he owns a 53 and wants to be involved. i came across him by accident a Ex mate who had him in to look at his wreck to weld up saw my baby in the corner. We had a chat the other day next to my 54 at the unit for about 4 hrs I know more people than he does so we will combine out contacts and I think it could be good for all of us. Most important i turst him he seams to have a pastion like me. I bought both of my cars unseen ( only by dig photo ) from the US with a bank loan 2 weeks in to a divorse. It has all worked out great. It' s the best thing I have done.

We have a collection between us of some of the earliest Porsche cars Dave has a 51 Alex 53 I have a 54 Alex' s mate has a 54 and Steve has a 56. We feel ( I know I do ) very luck to own these cars. My 69 would be so much better with a service book ...........

All these guys I recon we will not be able to afford in the future as they are just starting up in the porsche world of resto. Alex and Dave.

Hi Gavin

The 1966 RHD 912 you mentioned was seen recently by the guy that sourced my Olive 69 911T.

He sent me 15 pictures. I' ll put a couple up here - If anyone wants the whole set - please email me.

She looks really sweet from the outside.....

Steve

....and I think it' s had a " Californian" (i.e. $750 MAACO) paint job. See the painted striker plates (I' ve had first-hand experience of this).

For a US 66 car trust me that int. looks great.

paint job in the US yep I' d rather go out with FAT spice,oh... I mean sporty spice....

So 912UK - Fancy number five heh? [;)]

I' m reliably informed that an offer of $4,000 won' t offend (as its a RHD).

So for £2,600 and £1,400 shipping and fees (and what ever Steve Inglis - Classic Cars Int charges -£650?) it could be quite a deal.

Steve

P.S I have no connection with this car at all.
P.P.S I have asked Steve Inglis to keep me informed of any nice early Porsches he comes across. Apparently this 73 911 Targa is near-concourse.

Just check out the flared arches, not a 66 feature, me thinks its been mauled a few too many times. But hey you pays your money...

Hey 912 Uk - Sporty Spice is not looking to bad these days (whoops - I' ve let myself down again!)

Yes I have seen these cars on Ebay but they can be rubbish cars for top money due to the bidding frensi. I look for cars local in the states harder to do but worth I think. I found a 69 912 the other week for $3000 which had the engine rebuilt only a while back they only were selling it because the girl did not like driving it and Dad who had it for years wanted her little princess to drive . SO he had the engine overhauled for her to make it reliable and only wanted the cost of the work covered for the car so they are out there . Every body looks at Ebay not very body looks further on.

Thats how I found my 1954 356 for £4000 and my 1969 912 for £1200.

just got to look and burn the midnight oil lads.

I am thinking of another 912 from the US need to sort out some space only really to get loads of spare parts over. After that I would like a 914 or a 356 B. I think 914' s will be the next must have I can get them for $1000-1800 bucks in good shape no rust in the Bat tray.

as for shipping cost I think I get a better deal. I (may have changed But I am sure I can get it still) £370 for a container space on the boat plus some charges. Then tax etc usal rates here.

M

Bootsy Shame on you ,your weak and feeble resist her chubby cheek smile.

The rhd 66 car has a number of mods to it

1) no angled script on the engine lid
2) wooden dash insert ala 911 instead of the naff brushed aluminium
3) later wheel
4) wrong wheels (look nice though)
5) awful door mirror

have I missed anything other than the flared arches?

Looks like it has had a typical US paint job (why can' t people either use a screwdriver to take bits off or use masking tape!).

My old man had what appeared to be a really nice ' 70 280SL in recently and in the daylight it looked OK - under fluorescents, all you could see were sanding marks

Steve has very kindly sent me the photos and I am getting a local Pelicanite to check out the car for me. I am particularly concerned about rust, as the Americans are very good at doing quick respays, but not so good at getting dirty and fixing rust (I have experience). The owner says the car was resprayed about 13 years ago, it was originally black. It also appears to have LWB front wings with narrow horn grills.

If I do buy the car I may look for another car to fill a container, so there will be space for any parts that you may want brought back from CA. Maybe someone else wants a car brought back, you can get 3 x 911/912 in a 40' container.

Nick

The Guy who took the photos for me is now talking to a classic car magazine to do an article in their " Discovered" section. This is because the guy selling the 912 also has 3 other RHD cars in his yard a 190SL, a 67 Lotus Elan+2 and a Daimler 250 V8.

Any of these make a nice container-filler?[;)]

Steve

P.S I' m still annoyed I saw this one too late.
