But then I actually have the original one for my car so it wasn' t that important to me!
Have picked up a few nice bits from ebay, a magazine add for 911 and 912 and a late 60' s US brochure for the same not sure what year though. I will post up some scans when I get a chance and we can play guess the year!

got my 54 in Alex' s we are going to work on it next week Alex reconds I could get up and running for the 356 Int...hmmm we' ll see. I did want to start this in Jan of this year but I only met alex a month ago he saw my 54 6 months ago when he came down to the unit to price up a barn door wreck for welding. He saw my 54 in the corner even though it was covered up and noticed it as a Pre-A with the cover on. GOOD MAN. So here goes 356 int or bust, I' ve gone off miggs now.
te he.
I wanted it as it was 69 my car is 69

We have a collection between us of some of the earliest Porsche cars Dave has a 51 Alex 53 I have a 54 Alex' s mate has a 54 and Steve has a 56. We feel ( I know I do ) very luck to own these cars. My 69 would be so much better with a service book ...........
All these guys I recon we will not be able to afford in the future as they are just starting up in the porsche world of resto. Alex and Dave.

I' m reliably informed that an offer of $4,000 won' t offend (as its a RHD).
So for £2,600 and £1,400 shipping and fees (and what ever Steve Inglis - Classic Cars Int charges -£650?) it could be quite a deal.
Steve
P.S I have no connection with this car at all.
P.P.S I have asked Steve Inglis to keep me informed of any nice early Porsches he comes across. Apparently this 73 911 Targa is near-concourse.

Thats how I found my 1954 356 for £4000 and my 1969 912 for £1200.
just got to look and burn the midnight oil lads.
I am thinking of another 912 from the US need to sort out some space only really to get loads of spare parts over. After that I would like a 914 or a 356 B. I think 914' s will be the next must have I can get them for $1000-1800 bucks in good shape no rust in the Bat tray.
as for shipping cost I think I get a better deal. I (may have changed But I am sure I can get it still) £370 for a container space on the boat plus some charges. Then tax etc usal rates here.

1) no angled script on the engine lid
2) wooden dash insert ala 911 instead of the naff brushed aluminium
3) later wheel
4) wrong wheels (look nice though)
5) awful door mirror
have I missed anything other than the flared arches?
Looks like it has had a typical US paint job (why can' t people either use a screwdriver to take bits off or use masking tape!).
My old man had what appeared to be a really nice ' 70 280SL in recently and in the daylight it looked OK - under fluorescents, all you could see were sanding marks
If I do buy the car I may look for another car to fill a container, so there will be space for any parts that you may want brought back from CA. Maybe someone else wants a car brought back, you can get 3 x 911/912 in a 40' container.

The Guy who took the photos for me is now talking to a classic car magazine to do an article in their " Discovered" section. This is because the guy selling the 912 also has 3 other RHD cars in his yard a 190SL, a 67 Lotus Elan+2 and a Daimler 250 V8.
Any of these make a nice container-filler?[]
Steve
P.S I' m still annoyed I saw this one too late.
