What did u replace the afm with?
T3rra, I didn't its still there. All that Barn Door guff, I don't believe it, the engine cannot detect such a minor spring loading on the flap. (who really thinks it would affect engine braking?) Of course its not planned to be there permanently and we were thinking about a Cone in a cold location, but I honestly can't say how it will end up exactly.
There are a number of developments to follow. The ECU is really the foundation.

Did you notice increase in spool time from just ecu?
Be good to see the advantages cone filter can offer with the ability to data log
I am the younger part of the team on this project.
You asked about the barn door, the barn door was in for a while however it has now been replaced by toms delete pipe.
I have researched air filter restriction and found that a psi of air filter restriction will only equal 2=3hp at our level of tune.
I think for the power the car is currently running the standard filter is sufficient however I'd be keen to compare logs if you have any.
I can also say that the barn door hasn't made any difference to the boost threshold but that I have noticed the boost threshold is lower running the new ECU
This I believe is the ignition timing and also maybe toms faster smarter processor at work.
What sort of intake temps are you seeing with your new turbo?
How much lower than the K26/8 are they?
Robert
1.3 bar at 3 k in 5th and 3.2 in 4th
I think 0.8 bar factory level was 2600 in 5th so quicker then a stock 26/6
Intake temps wise Iv not done much data logging yet till I get new map sensor and retune
But temps recover faster after a hard pull.
On the 26/8 things started heating up quickly after 5k
12deg before boost would be 26 degrees at end off one gears pull but that's running 1.3 bar
My ic pipes where more direct but at the length they are I don't think it will make a would measure able difference

In general the quest for increased torque on a given rpm band disappears when VE is generously bumped up, as an engine revving "really fast" doesn't leave you the time to think you don't have enough torque anywhere below the red line.
