Eight Valve Camshaft Blank?

James, its a re-grind. Im going to guess that they could use a cheap 2,479cc part, because the later engine uses the same cam carrier.

Thom, Bosch refer to it as the fuel quality switch and you can find more information out on Promax's site and elsewhere. Re custom mapping: I really dont know.

I asked a friend of mine who works for a leading cam manufacturer and he says he has found a couple of "924 chillcast blanks, semi-finished". I don't know if they're from the 2.0 or the 2.5. If they're from the 2.5 924S then perhaps they're the same? They have the gear at the end, if that helps.

Ian, any chance of a couple of photos of the blanks to help with identification? The cam I bought is unfortunately rather worn in places and I dont consider it to be worth re-grinding, as such I am still in need of a cam to grind.

Not the best quality (from phone):

The 2.5 engine drives the cam from a pulley just behind the distrubutor arm at the front of the engine. I cant see why it would have a gear at the back.

I have a couple of used 2.5 cams, if you're interested?
