Engine chip/remap - advice needed

ORIGINAL: MoC2S

I've just made that remap sound like a bargain ... a good quality German horse will set you back upwards of £10 K !!

cheers, Maurice [;)]

Know a lot about German horses do you Maurice? [:D][:D][:D]

Gulp, you know how to ask difficult questions don't you Maurice.

about £10.5K for the engine work including the remap and all parts (don't tell the wife) and £1,500 for the full cargraphic system, headers, racing cats and rear boxes and fancy tips, you could get by with just racing cats which are also £1,500 from Dansk!

Now before you all start, you should see the list of other mods and the cost they have been :-( - I know i should have bought a mint RS or TT but the real world figures are slightly faster than an RS but a bit behind a TT.

However, I have enjoyed immensely modding the car, Oh and i need to take into account that it is probably worth 2 shillings and sixpence as it is now highly modified, however, each time I give a GT3 owner a hard time on the track and I leave him looking under the rear bonnet for the non existant supercharger I collect some payback!

Cheers

John

BTW Maurice do you recokon I have one of the most mechanically modded cars on the register?

For goodness sake don't work out the £/hp on this one Maurice!

And that's the perfect reason for doing it! Top Man!

And I've been worried about a re-map!!! Hope I see you around at a track - would like to see the beast in action. Have you anything planned.

Blood and sand! You're certainly getting full use out of her! Unfortunately we're opposite ends of the country. Am going to Goodwood for the annual festival on 1st Sept but that's the only time I'm in your neck of the woods.

Hi Lee,

No point in spending all the money if I don't get full use out of her ;-)

Those track days are on top of the six I have already done so far this year :)

I may book late on the Oulton day at the end of the calendar, but will see how the weather is likely to pan out.

Pete,

It would be good to say hi at Bedford

Cheers

John

I will be at Bedford on the 12th and would love to see what your car is like as I am toying with the 9M kit with a supercharger being the alternative.

Richard

Richard,

I actually bought a TPC kit off ebay never fitted and then sold it on when I went for the heads.

If you want to track a s/c then my research showed you should go for an intercooler or charge cooler, plus extra oil cooler, plus I would want additional knock sensor and also inlet charge sensor, which started to make it all a bit much for me so it went back on ebay and I went down the heads route.

Come and find me at bedford, midnight blue, big red brakes, 996 light wheels, personalised plate (rather not post the reg no but it is my initials ;-) happy to take you for a spin

John

Hi,

Just managed to bag the last spot at Bedford on the 12th - if my cheque gets there on time [;)]

See you all there - Silver cab - personal plate related to my initials - going slowly around, getting passed by all these remapped beasts [:)]

Cheers

Pete
