Simon at SPS engines or EMC may have an S2 engine though they both specialise in rebuilding them so may only have shiny rebuilt ones.

There are swaps with a VW 1.8 or 2.0 :) which can be tuned pretty highly and is in the family.

A good second hand 944 engine is not that easy to come by these days, though there may still be a rotten car with a reasonable engine out there.

I have had a look at the Audi option however its not a cheap but not discounted, the motorwerks cars are something else
