Thought I should say a hello, my name is Andy from Stamford. I'm looking for a 944 - probably an S2 so delving around to see what I can find out being a 944 virgin. Be gentle with me :)

Cheers
Andy

Hi,

Andy I live in Stamford also. You are quite welcome to come and have a look at mine and get some tips and advice. Another +1 for Elliot. He is a good guy. I can pop you over there if you like. I need to go and see him anyway [:D] As with everything it is just getting the time though. My number is in the signature mate. PS a very warm welcome [:)]

Hi Andy, welcome, there are a few of us in this region, I live down near Huntingdon.

make sure you get a Red one, they're fastest.....

Ah yes well pointed out fatty. I forgot to mention that. And if it happens to be a turbo all the better. If none of the finest example are available though you may have to settle for an S2 if your budget will stretch. Talking of which. How much were you looking at spending if you don't mind me asking?

A very kind offer Rob, I will take you up on that. I'm hoping to get to see Elliot Sunday if he's free (I'm not available on Saturday at this point although that may change)

In answer to your other question, I had been thinking about £2.5-3k but I don't want to buy a problem so to up the budget isn't an issue. However, I guess a lot will depend on if I settle on S1/S2 or Turbo?

Thank you everyone for the very warm welcome, it's not the case in all forums but this has been a pleasant surprise how helpful everyone is!

Cheers
Andy

I stand corrected then, I always thought red paint was heaviest :)

Sundays are always bad for me mate as I am busy for everyone of them lol. Saturdays are usually good though unless it has been a heavy one in the Fleece [:)]

Had a feeling you would say that! Same for me too normally, I'm due to be flying this Saturday, going solo as a student pilot! (fulfilling another childhood dream!) but weather isn't looking too good so may be free if it's cloudy and wet! [;)]

Where do you fly Andy? Sibson?
Are you on the Flyer Forum? (Great Student section: http://forums.flyer.co.uk/)

I have joined a group operating a pair of Rallye 180s on a Farm strip just over the A1 from Conington (EGSF)
Here is the Yellow Peril that I am converting onto first (have to do 5 hours to satisfy the insurers I can operate from the strip):

Nice aircraft Albert!

No, not Sibson, I fly out of Conington. Our aircraft is hangared there. I bought in to a third share of a new Sportcruiser which arrived last June

I was hoping to be qualified by now but time and weather has not been in my favour the last 6 months or so. Due to do my solo QXC this Saturday if weather permit!

I hadn't been on the flyer forum before, will take a look but already on too many!![:)]
