Evening at Aston Martin Workshops, May 15th

As the premises are being kept open for us for our visit outside of business hours a couple of the lads will be on hand to show us round and answer questions so we are going to give them a couple of bottles of wine as a thank you so I will be collecting a £1 of everyone for this purpose [:D]

Seems fair, don't we think? [;)]

An excellent night [:D] thanks to everyone that turned up, a really great turn out, great cars, company and grub.

Hey,Nick, thanks for organising a great evening, it was a pleasure to meet you and your missus[:)]

Food at the pub was excellent, ate so much, I feel like I`m having twins [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

Cheers, Mike and Hayley.

Nick

Thanks for a great evening and for making 2 strays from R7 so welcome.

Seeing 2 Zagatos in one place made the trip from Wakefield totally worthwhile.

Andrew

a great evening Nick , both myself & Jo really enjoyed ourselves [:D]

BTW, Nick, you'll officially be the 1st to know if baby no3 is due [;)][:D][:D]

Can I just add that all the hard work was done by Julie, I am merely the front man and it wouldn't have been anywhere near as succesful if it wasn't for Julie.

So on behalf of everyone who went last night and had such a great time thanks very much Julie [:D]

Thankyou Julie, sorry about the Missus bit, I`m bl**dy rubbish at remembering names, just ask whatsername I`m married to [:D]

I recall a thread `Friendly Club` on the forum a while ago and I`d just like to point out to anybody that feels a bit short changed by there own region...... Get up North.

I was a bit concerned earlier on. At the entrance to Beamish museum.... The enormous red iron press.... `Yeah` said Peter, `Used to be used for crushing Yorkshiremens heads`[:D]

It`s got to be a tricky job, living between Yorkshiremen and Scotsmen. Who would think that would make for the friendliest people in the country [;)]

Thankyou Julie, it was our pleasure.

Regards, Mike and Hayley.

Mike ya crazy man Julie aint' my missus, thats Helen, Julie was the lady sat to your left on the night on the other table, one of our regular members, sorry mate should have explained.

And thanks for the kind words, we do try to make people welcome!

Ahh...... you see, my memory for names may not be as bad as I thought. It was definately the Helen, Julie thing that got me all confused.

Thanks Julie, Thanks Helen and thanks Nick  [:)]

Mike.

(crazy man?.... that`s the nicest thing that anybody has ever said yo me)

Sorry for the late reply - Julie - that was Outstanding. The Zagatos were unbelieveably beautiful.

I was amazed when the guy in the showroom said "they're all open just hop in anything you fancy".

How did you organise this? I presume they were massively bribed to be that accomodating?

[:)]

Chris (the guy who got dropped off by a Hyundai - bl**min' 944's!! [:(] )

Thanks Nick and Julie. Rita and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. In fact, would love to go again!

Thanks Julie for organizing a most enjoyable night Moira & I thoroughly enjoyed the night and as Chris said when the guy said that they where all open and just to jump in any one, they are only cars [:)] I think Moira sat in everyone

You are all most welcome. I'm really pleased it was all a success.
We've known Bob who owns it for years so thought it best not to involve him!
Paul and Jackie from the showroom were really the ones who did the hard work..
At least now you know why we country yokels like it up here!!

I was looking at the June edition of Classic cars magazine (the one with the white Carrera RS on the front) the other day and, lo and behold, on pages 90 & 91 is a feature on the Aston workshops with a double page picture featuring Bob, John and Mick hard at work.

I was a bit surprised that the feature didn't include any contact details though!
