Exhaust Bypass Mod in West London - Anyone?

Not bad, but I have seen better versions of the 'Pedro' or 'Gundo' exhaust bypass mod.

btw I know both of these guys from my time in USA.

Hi Nick, do you mean better workmanship or something else? If so, any places that you can recommend that are local to west london?
What two guys are you referring to ?
I think I may be having a dumb moment today... Thanks

The guys are friends of mine in USA.

It looks something like this although this photo is the 997 version:

Uses a wider bore cross pipe.

Here is one from a 996:

Mine has the sports exhaust, is it still possible? I actually don't know what the difference is between mine (sports) and standard exhaust?

The sport exhaust is much the same as the photo above although it has a valve in the pipe. The valve operates on switching it on. However it also has a speed dependent cut-out for 'town' driving. Some disconnect the switch control and wire the valve to be permanently loud.

How am I not surprised that you wanted to be noisy all the time [:)]

These are the two types of genuine PSE. The old one (originally for the 3.4 engines) gives a 1" bypass between inlet and outlet pipes. This is the type of bypass Roy has (and that I had).

The newer one (introduced with the 3.6 engine, but suitable for both) has a much larger bypass which bypasses only half the silencer. Richard's photo (post #25) shows the fixed equivalent.

Do you have an instruction document for bypassing the switch?

Hi Dave,

With mine, I know that my Indy disconnected the speed dependant wire from behind the fuse box I think.

If you want it loud all the time, some people have disconnected the vacuum hose that operates the flaps.

Really like the look of the conversation on post 25 if anyone can point me in the right direction would be fantastic.
I based in Hertfordshire so near would be good.

Many thanks in advance.
Cliff.
