Exterior colour

I keep saying matt Black but, what I actually mean is a sort of satin Black [8|]. Why dated mate ? A lot of le mans race cars and,
Nurburgring 24hr race cars are in Matt and satin colours. I think they look superb.

I guess most people loved seeing a Conti GT wrapped matt-black in 2006. Come 2007, when every Nova was covered in badly-peeling matt black vinyl, it became very old-hat very quickly. [&:]

I'd need to see it to be convinced, but I think the lines of a 944 could look lovely with a satin paint job, done well. The bits that date them are the sharp lines on the haunches, the bonnet etc. Those might look better when smoothed out by a less shiny finish?

Paul's got it - the numberplate ages out cars but apart from that they're still a good strong design. Matte wraps are a bit passé now - there's a matte wrapped Juke near me [:'(]

If you want a bold race-car look then get her polished up, some gold wheels and a couple of gold stripes - a JPS homage [:D]

Or white and martini-ed up!

For me it has to be a late Turbo in White with Silver D90's [:)]

Or if I was going with any Porsche colour then I'd go for Viper Green with black wheels [:D]

Rare? Of the standard colours, I would guess Nile Green?

Most sought-after? Personally, Maritime Bue. Perfect on a 944 cab.

What about Star Ruby as a rare colour, I've only seen one car in this colour and it doesn't quite get away with the colour like the 964 RS

Its funny isn't it, how Rubystone on one car is beautiful whereas Star Ruby on another looks ungainly. I used to love it though and if Id been able to buy a 968CS in it then Id have had it over Maritime.

I remember the Rubystone 964 RS on the wall at the NEC

...and love the colour to this day

I would think an Audi S4 or a Mk7 GTI in Rubystone would be stunning (no black wheels pls, silver like the rs)

Isn't that the same as rubystone?

If so, I think there were more in rubystone than in nile green. Still a lovely colour for a cab, just a shame the only ones for sale I've ever known were the Portugese low-spec one, and the Buchanan Motors car. 'Nuff said...[;)]

They are the same colour but for some reason it's called Star Ruby on a nine four four and Rubystone on the nine six four RS [:D]
