Fantastic Cotswold rally

ORIGINAL: Rich Claridge

Does anyone know who the other awards were presented to?

I have sent the list in for publication but from memory, and remembering what Ian MacKay said about me 'not being a People Person' I have remembered the cars rather than names.
Register award................ 944 Register
Regional award ............ Essex Region
Classic Car ................... 356B
Spirit of the Rally ......... 916 GT
Special award ............... Les and Harriet Day.

Geoff Ives:

No. I had to make some enquiries. It has been done this morning.

Only if you have a guilty concisions Rich. [;)]

I did feel a little tempted to play doughnuts in the big empty spare car park at Gaydon. (You can do doughnuts when the engine is in the right place [;)]) Ultimately I decided it wouldn't ingratiate the Club to the management of Gaydon and went back to being an adult.

Hmmm, seems you've all said everything I wanted to!

So as not to repeat it all, suffice to say thanks from us both as well! It's not often Jane agrees to come out and play, and she really enjoyed the day.

Thanks Geoff, and everyone who helped with the Rally!

We had not done the Cotswold Rally before, but can argue it was a great event, well planned and well run.
We had a great day-out and enjoyed the company of many.
My thanks to Geoff and Mavis with regard for all those who assisted in the running of the 2007 Cotswold Rally.
A thought too for "Arkwright" who tipped-up to run the Club's Shop facility.
Many thanks to all, and for the invite Geoff.
The Lovelace family, Bob, Tracy and The Harv![:)]

Thanks to all the organisers and helpers. A beautiful day and a relaxing time for us and the car. Unfortunately we did see the deer while pootling behind a chap who, I found out while chatting to him at Gaydon, had come all the way from Essex. Worth the trip.

Spent the return from Gaydon in our own company, slight mishap at Chipping Campden but glad as we drove round it twice and thought it fabulous.

Nice to see the older cars out and about.
Thanks again
Dave & Di.

Is anyone going to say what the transgressor did ?

NO.
It has been sorted and I don't intend to start a culture of blame in what should be a fun event.

Geoff Ives. Cotswold Rally Organiser.

I have just had a telephone call from the driver of the 'transgressor car' and he has requested that I 'tender his sincere appologies to all entrants on the rally for his inapropriate driving'.

Sorry is the hardest word and I have accepted his appology on your behalf.

Geoff Ives. Cotswold Rally Organiser.

Very enjoyable day and glad to contribute to the 944 award. Thanks to Geoff and the organisers.

Hi Geoff , Mavis and all the helpers
Thank you all for a wonderfully organised event. This was our first Cotswold Rally but sadly we had to leave after Gaydon. We really enjoyed the 'first half! and more importantly we enjoyed catching up with old friends during our picnic. We had no idea that Gaydon was so huge. Definatley worth a visit on its own.
We had been down in the Cotswolds since Friday lunchtime and made a full weekend of it. Many thanks for making the effort in coming to see us at the hotel on Thursday Geoff and also for the invite to the meal on Saturday night.
Next year we'll do it all!!
Well done indeed.

Sorry - I was just wondering what I shouldn't do when I come on the next one - I wasn't trying to upset anyone.[&o]

Good lord. I didn't take offence I was just trying to defuse a situation and people who know me will tell you I don't do diplomacy.

Well I will tell you what it was.
The guy was driving in an agressive manner, tailgating and cutting in. He was possibly living his own little fantasy. This is not unusual and was the reason for the 'Driver Breifing' sessions.
We have also had this on the Manx events. A sane, rational, safe driver gets into a situation and grows horns. You will see many of the type stuck in the armco at trackdays.

Lets not dwell on one guys momentary insanity- it was a great day out and I look forward to coming again next year- any chance of anyone osting any pictures ?

Just wanted to say "thanks" to Geoff - our first ever "rally", and we really enjoyed it. What a laugh watching Porsches driving off in all directions. Some are probably still looking for that turn to Sibford Ferris.

Looking forward to next year.

...better late than never. My only images of the event.
