I wonder if you would get an even better finish if you simply cut away the front face of the orange indicator and then plastic welded the clear sheeting over the orange backplate left behind.
New OEM lenses are about a tenner and even cheaper SH if anyone wanted to experiment (especially as Chris has enough clear for Buckingham Palace [] )

Well that IS identical to my wastegate. Not sure how it fouls the brakes[&:]. Might have to do something a bit special with the intake manifold though...
