Feeling the Lurv!!

As some of you may have seen already, I've gone and bought an S2 - Andrew Churcher's old 944 in the fastest colour of course! (see, I'm learning!)

I just wanted to thank all of you for a warm welcome and all the help and advice, it's been unbelievable! Having Rob Wright on my doorstep has been a real bonus (cheers mate, you got some beer tokens to trade in [;)]) but I've had so many offers of help and rides in cars I was gob-smacked!

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks, group hug and all that and look forward to meeting peeps at the Rutland meet

Thanks again
Andy

I keep on saying it but silver is the fastest colour.[:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]

No but seriously well done and welcome to the S2 clan.

well done. often think i should have held out for an s2. hope you enjoy it as much as much as i have enjoyed my lux over the past year. your right though this forum has been awesome. looking forward to seeing it at rutland

Andy I only egged you on to buy it so that I can have a go and finally confirm my theory that the S2 is massively inferior to the best 944 ever 944 - the Guards Red 944 Turbo of course [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]

Region 8 are coming over to The George in Stamford for lunch on the 26th this month, so I'll be there in the nice and nimble square dash.

Oooh very posh. Are local non member scum welcome? A pile of 944s out the back of the George with the old hotel in the background would make a lovely pic.

ha ha no way elliot! ive put too much blood and sweat into her now. shes never going!

edit:

So much faster we dont have to shout about it [;)]

Glad you went for Andrew's old car. It really was exceptionally good when I last saw it, and you pay almost the same price for a really good one as you do for a car that's needing masses done.

Look after it, get it properly insured with an agreed value, and you'll absolutely love it. [:)]

Some regions are happy for non-members to come to a Club night and see if they like the local crowd. Other's think it's unfair to expect to be entertained without joining, give the local organiser a call and ask if you want to be polite! [:)]

I always try to open 944 events to everyone, and I've never felt that anyone has taken the mickey and turned up to event after event with no intention of becoming a member. Often it's led people to join in, other times it's saved them a year's membership as it's not their thing.

nice and nimble square dash.

;)

Andy,

You are certainly learning :D Enjoy your new car and as someone else said on here make sure you get a decent insurance policy and an agreed valuation. Lancaster are good :)

As for colours, black is the quickest by a mile ...

Sorry Rob its a club pre-booked do - an booking closed a week or so ago . But you really should join the Club[;)][:D][;)][:D]
And you probably know that the courtyard is not available for parking.........

Hope to meet you at Rutland on the Sunday - 2 trips down the A47 in 2 days and a birthday meal Saturday evening as well!

Yes have taken a days leave especially for Rutland. Didn't want to miss out after it was rearranged. Will be good to put some faces to names. I will drag the new boy Andy Hairyarse along in Andrew Churcher's old S2 wagon also.
