Fen's ideal car.......... almost!

Cat C would lead me to think that there was more tha njsut Panel damage - and also if the insurance repaired it, it wouldn't have been logged as an insurance write off, so there must be more of a story to it. If it was Cat D and then repaired by the owner, then that would make more sense to the story that's being told.

On the subject of Fen, is he going to tell us why his Ricer is now a vacancy?

That's interesting. My ideal combo is with grey leather rather than cobalt though.

My ricer is now a vacancy because, strangely, I came very, very close to actually buying my ideal 944 Turbo cab and that deal involved selling the Roadster to make way both financially and in parking terms.

Between taking the deposit and getting the balance of payment I decided that 5 944s were enough for me and I fancy a change or a move on, so I didn't end up even going to look at the car that persuaded me to put my Mazda up for sale. I did get back for the Mazda exactly what I paid for it and I kept all the spares that came with it so I have some bits to eBay, and I should come out of the deal with a small profit as well as the smiles the car gave me, but ultimately I wasn't sorry to see it go.

I very nearly bought a replacement to fill the vacancy on Tuesday and I may still do so if that car stays unsold for a couple of weeks longer, but I want to see an invoice paid on my new contract before I commit pretty much all my available cash to a toy. I have narrowed the search to a specific model even if I lose out on that one. Let's just say I'm going over to the dark side...

Come on you can't leave it at that ! At least tell us a manufacturer so we can start the guessing!

There's a dark side on most forums. On Scoobynet it's the Evo, evidently among Westfields it Caterham and... You need to think more laterally.

I've seen references to the darkside on another Porsche club's forum. Hmmm. I'm going to keep quite now. Very jealous if I'm right. [;)]

It's obviously a 986 - we all know how much Fen likes his convertibles [:D]

You've already got the hearse, so stop faffing around with other cars and sort your V8 out [8D], if you procrastinate any longer there is a risk I'll get mine finished first [:)]

A Boxster![:'(][:'(][:'(]

Point taken on the V8, but there's plenty time for that.

hmm think laterally, eh? And its German. I think I have it. There is a car whose name in Polish means "party". Poland was German for a while. The dark side. Yes it all fits. You are clearly getting another Impreza

Laterally, I think the dark side is the 911.
Well, you have had several crushed beetles already and several 944, maybe this time a Caymen. To me, it is positioned as the modern 944 and if tweaked can be as good as or better than the 997.

I think you may be right on the 911, but wouldn't that be 'going back to the dark side' as I'm sure Fen has owned one before. Possibly a 964 Turbo 2 bearing in mind his love of Turbos!
