Finally

... update ...

Going to see car on Sunday. Will post more pictures. And get the damn codes. Any advices on what to look for? The car is going for 111pc, so anything else that I need to look for ? rads ?

Also seller is now telling me that some oil changes haven't been done by OPC. Important ? Anyway will post full details of history once I had a look.

Regards Voya

It sounds like a nice car, and not having some services by OPC does not matter as such as long as they are done by a good specialist and on time. I looked at many cars that they told me that the car had a full service history and some of the mileages were 2000 - 3000 out which is not acceptable as far as i am concerned. So many people dont tell you how it is with service history number of owners and condition, i ended up getting people to fax or email me the service history and log book before looking at any cars.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Phil

Thanks for the advice guys. Richard, I've already printed checklist (2 copies, one for me one for friend who's coming to put the brakes on me).
Problem is I don't know if they are good specialists and if they are done on time or late or early. How much does it matter if they are not (you can see that I'm hell bent on getting the car :D). Obviously taking into account that it will go on check and be warrantied as condition of sale. And price is such that couple of dealers offered me more money without even seeing the car.

You should have service stamps at 12, 24, 36 and 48000. If the previous owners were careful about servicing, they would have it done within 1000 miles either side of the deignated intervals. If they are all slightly early it's a good sign.

Difficult to say who are the 'known' specialists, but I would expect them to have "Porsche Specialists" on their stamp, at least. Having said that, if it is the straightforward 12k and 36k Minor service there isn't much to do, other than changing the oil and filters. I'd only be worried if the stamps looked suspicious, or were all by Arthur Daly Motors.

If the price is right, the OPC pass the 111-point check, and you get the warranty, you can't go too far wrong. I'm sure you'll know by looking at it if it has been cared for or neglected.

listen to your chum with the brakes !!!if he says no then its probably sound advice if he says yes then you can always blame him.....[:D][:D][:D]

Richard,

will get all the details tommorow and report here after all unfortunatelly don't have 20+k to throw away.
Dylan, well I was there for him to stop him buying green (yes, I'll spell it G R E E N ) ferrari 355 on noticing crazed look in
his eyes after test drive.

regards Voya

Dylan,
I'm not good pal, I'm just extremely selfish. Knowing that I would end up having the car to myself for ocasional weekend, I just couldn't approve of it.
