Financing Your Porsche

lots of trains of thought on this topic seemingly but if you gonna finance it against your house then its a case of how comfortable you are in the amount of equity u have in your appreciating asset in the first place. i blew all my available cash on my house re-built then fell in love with a 997s so borrowed cash against my house anyway! worse case, car goes and move away from london is my view but everyones different. u wont make cash on the car but hell you"ll love it and life is far too short. no point in buying the car you"ve always wanted when your 70 right!

QUESTION - I always thought that leasing appealed to heavily depreciating assets particularly of this sort of value, i.e. you lease car from company rather than own it, pay a regular payment, e.g. monthly, and at the end of the agreement you give the car back (avoids a lot of re-sale uncertainty). An advance agreed valuation on the car at end of agreement, e.g. 2 years sets the payments. I asked at OPC at time and they were not in the business as they reckoned sub-contracted finance companies were reluctant to buy Porsches - their best guess was a 50% depreciation over 2 years.
Ask a BMW financer about buying a 7 series on leasing and that option is more attractive than the more traditional financing route.

Just a thought - any further insight into above would be appreciated.

J, hopefully Jamie will have some further advice, this stuff is his field....

I just pay the bills when they ask and drive the arse off the car... so far works for me quite well [:D]
