Hi Lewis,
Good call, welcome to classic Porsche ownership.....

I'm not too far from you (Wrexham) and also have a 2.7 Porsche but in the Skinny 924 body

I've had 10 Porsche so far, but the first wasn't until age 32! So you're well ahead in time and as Frenchy
mentioned it's a refreshing change for a teen to not have a Vauxhall Hatch and a 4.5" exhaust can!

Hi Lewis,
I'm not far away either, I on Porsche #6 (not as many as Roger) but Roger and I know each other, but if you need any help, we both know our way around these things pretty well. My son and I have 2 x 994 S2's a road car and a race car.

What was the Porsche magazine that did a big article on the brilliance of 944's and had the (258-point) heading at the start "994"? I can remember seeing it in WHSmith's in Victoria Station and really needing to look very hard before believing what I was seeing ....

Oh and Hi Lewis, good choice of car! Learn to repair the thing and look after it and you'll find you may have a car that you will want to keep for the rest of your life.

Hi Lewis and welcome, Can I be the first to say, "pictures please", great choice as a project but can be a money pit if not careful and you will certainly learn some new skills. Good luck and use the forum, a great place for help no matter what the problem is someone else will have had it before.

Here it is for all those interested, and don't worry the wheels on the back won't be staying that wide i need to find a shallower dish to bring them in. She's bait rough at the moment but hopefully within the next couple of months we should be back up and running
 
Well ! I guess that's a fair interpretation of a Corsa in a Porsche Jacket ! lol ....

That rear is not bolted on the Hub surely? The front wheel offset looks wrong also, even if it's not
sticking out by 5 " ! what and where did you get these wheels from ?

The wheels are bbs split rims and they are off an early 911 the offset does actually stick of 5 inches at the rear the fronts do actually sit nicely within the arches i just need to sort the alignment out all round and split the rears from 11inch to 7.5 or 8 inch lol

I thought they must be Early Offset 911's, BBS don't sell any spare parts... where are going to get or find different dishes and rear hoops?

Do you have the original's ? were they 15" teledials? if so they would be ET52, and the BBS front's must be ET20-25? so the front's jacked out 30mm
and the rear maybe similar or more ? dependant on what hoops you may find...
It's the wide "Old Skool" look I guess your going for and not the best handling... ? at least it doesn't look too low otherwise they would catch the
arches etc..

What do you want to achieve with the car? As in, do you want something that looks standard, something that continues the look it currently has, something that is simply cheap transport for 3 years .... ?

Also, what's lurking under those side skirts and are the front wings fibreglass?

Yeah, each and to their own desires...it's a good way to learn new things about a car's handling for better and worse

I've dabbled quite a bit with many different wheel and tyre sizes
from 15" to 18" and widths from 6" to 9" on eight transaxles..So far!
