Brake fluid on all cars have to be changed every two years or when boiling piont reaches 150c.New fluid is 270c most garages should have a tool for checking this.i recomend changing at 190c

Interesting comment given the list of cars in your signature - my Golf Mk6 is every 3 years according to VW with no intermediate checks on its condition, can't see your Mk5 being any different ?
