First track day advice

Well done on coming through your first track day!
Spinning a 944 on standard suspension is pretty easy on a track. Its set up way too soft at the rear and it tends to 'dig in' on the loaded rear wheel and get out of shape. You would not believe the difference a coil over upgrade makes"¦.suddenly the back becomes much more controllable and lets you exploit the superb 'pointiness' of the front end. That, and a good set of track tyres will transform your experience.

I'm afraid it has a decent suspension setup being fitted with a KW V3 kit by the previous owner who did many trackdays, so can't blame that. Although judging by the amount of gravel I found under the car in various orifaces its had a few offs before.
 
KWv3 is great, although perhaps still a little soft.. It's the best road/track setup I've tried though. A good geo can make the car more pointy, as can trail braking.

I'd agree on tyres - Yoko AD08 is a fantastic compromise tyre, a proper road tyre, but very grippy, stands up to heat and wears really well. I like a square setup, which also helps on tyre wear / costs
