A walking sculpture trail around the streets and alleyways of Whitby has been completed.
The first sculpture in the trail which depicts a fisherman's wife and baskets full of fish has been installed on the west side of the swing bridge, then it proceeds up Golden Lion Bank and Flowergate, along Skinner Street, down Khyber Pass to finish at the bandstand at the end of Pier Road.
Sculptures incude Frank Meadow Sutcliffe famous for his real life photography, a lady sitting knitting a "Gansy", William Scoresby snr looking out from the Crows Nest, William was a whaler and Arctic explorer, a fishwife with her barrel of herrings and many more.
At weekends and Bank Holidays the Council closes the swing bridge to traffic to allow space for the thousands of visitors to walk across safely.
John and I look forward to meeting up with friends and new members at Whitby on Wednesday 19th May hopefully the sun will shine.
Regards
Rita
I think you should be OK for the Sunday as you are the fifteenth car Telford. I will ask Chris to confirm.Telfordrollin56 said:We would like to go if there are any places left please for Telford & Cheryl Rollin

It is looking almost certain that I will have to use my 2002 911 996.2 C2 Coupe R11 GUD for the run on 19th instead of what I accidentally referred to as my Boxstet.
The drive is entirely up to you, we usually set off in a loose group but inevitably some will get separated. There a various places to stop if you wish.adigra said:Both routes look great and I think will make for a really nice loop if combined. Fingers crossed for better weather than this weekend!
Do you guy usually go on your own from A to B, or in convoy?

Very much looking forward to the stops, much appreciated suggestions. I've done something close to route 2 many times as that stretch from Helmsley via Kildale to Whitby is my favourite.
