Fish and Chip Run, Whitby

Hi John Please add Lorraine and myself to the list, just been reading some of the previous threads, other regions reading them will think we are all tight Yorkshire alcoholics that are all on Viagra, how wrong could they be I can only think of one that this applies to.[:D] (not me) Steve

ORIGINAL: john holmes For those not been on the run before we meet at Specialist Cars Malton where John Hawkins kindly provides refreshments from 10 a.m. onwards, departing for a run over the moors to Whitby around 11 a.m. Parking is reserved hopefully by the Council on Endeavour Wharf and reservations made at Trenchers. As Chris Chappell has found a cheap drinking place, all the drinks are on him! Cheers Rita & John
Thank you for the details about this trip, please can you include us both to attend.

Just checked out the groty pub - its got some good reviews and friendly staff so it looks like a fine watering hole for an apperitif or two pre fish chip lunch. Looking forward to the run and meeting youall.

Thats the one mate!! The words grotty pub/ cheap beer really go well with the words Porsche Club GB don't you think?[:D] Chris

PS, might have to change the name of this event next year to the cheap ale run. Stuff Trenchers- we can make do with a bag of nuts and save a packet on fish and chips.[:)][:)] Not that I'm tight of course.

there is another sams smiths pub round the corner called the jolly sailer, just as grotty but has oak cask handpull, though you do get funny looks if you just ask for a handpull[:D] maybe we will have to go on the bus and spend the day drinking!

Im going to have to cancel, sorry guys. My baby niece + her parents are coming up from down south for that week and its the only chance well get to see them. Sorry. Chris

You could always bring them with you on the bus with Rob and have a great day in Sammy Smiths hand pulled emporium!

Fantastic response from everyone this year - so pleased we didn't pick the same date as last year! Force 9 gale here on the coast the last few days but no snow in this arctic climate. Rita & John White Boxster 981 Red VW Golf 1.4 TSI

Looking forward to the run. Won't be partaking at Trenchers though - new Wetherspoons just opened a couple of door s down (called The Angel) fantastic place and if you don't want fish n chips, they do a lovely Sunday lunch at Yorkshire prices! Had a "free" meal the other day before they opened as staff training. Loverley Hope the snow's gone by then

you're taking the piss I assume ? Wetherspoons !! The pub equivalent of Maccy'd's [:'(] [8D]

Just been informed that it's "chips in newspaper" on the sea front by "'er indoors". Has to be newspaper though, cos the printing ink mixed with the vinegar adds a certain vintage charm to the already Yorkshire taste. I agree with Geoff though, those darn seagulls do make a mess of the waxed shine! Maybe I'll take my folding gazebo, not had much chance to use it yet since purchasing it 2 years ago! John
