Fish and Chip Run, Whitby

Just had a look at available dates for March and April - 30th March - Mother's Day (out) 6th April start of Easter Holidays (out) so it looks like 23rd March may be o.k. Is anything else planned around that time? Rita

Are you sure about the date for the start of the Easter holidays, Rita? Good Friday is the 18th April so I wouldn't have thought Easter holidays would start until the week before (someone with children might be better placed to advise!). That would mean that 6th April would be a possible date. I only ask as if the run's on 23rd March we will miss it as we plan to be on holiday on that date.

I have checked term dates - North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire start Easter holidays on the 4th April but South Yorkshire is 11th April. I think it is because Easter is late and the May day holiday would be too close. Sorry about that Ian and Sharon but I think we better stick with the 23rd March. We had a problem after Christmas getting parked in Whitby and never even got to eat in Trenchers because the queue was too long - they had problems because one range was out of action after the flooding - I believe water was up to table height. The Angel nearby was completely devastated and looks set for complete refurbishment again. Sympathised with your York episode - very difficult to find secure parking and not that safe. As usual we will meet at Malton - spoke to John today and he has put the date in his diary. John & Rita

23rd March ok with us. Retiring week after so will be a good start to my life of leisure! 2 cars please but not eating in Trenchers as too late in the afternoon. We prefer eating out of paper anyway! As for the flooding in Whitby, I've spent last few months surveying along the coast for replacing all Pepsi kit in pubs and cafés after the tidal wave damage. Unbelievable the damage caused by one freak of nature! Looking forward to it John/Rita

John/Rita Sorry to say car Sorn off the road this year till April![:(]will have to organise a region 3 Whitby run later![8|]

Hope you received my email regarding contact details at Scarborough Council for reserving spaces on Endeavour Wharf. Its not necessary to be driving a Porsche so if you want to come along we won't ignore you! If you do a R3 run it will be an opportunity for us to join your group. It was a good day for a run out today so went across to Thornton le Dale, over the moors to Whitby - parking easily on Endeavour Wharf - and sampling the excellent fish and chips at Trenchers - good as ever. Have made our reservation for the 23rd March. John & Rita Whitby Boxster 981

Thank you John, the 23rd is good for us too, looking forward to it already. Tony & Linda

We'll be there. Car could do with a run, had a major service in November and hasn't turned a wheel since! If it's raining though we'll go in the van[:D] Chris and Linda
