Fish and Chip Run, Whitby

Great day out again blessed by fine sunny weather, big thanks again to John & Rita for organising.

Another great fish & trip run, thanks to Rita & John for all their organisational work - they even sorted the weather! and good to see so many people turn out for the first club run of the year!

Do Jane and I get a prize for being the last car left in the car park in Whitby?[:)] - the weather was just too good to leave! Many thanks to all involved in organising this run, a great success in all respects. Thank you again Graham and Jane

Thanks John and Rita, we had a lovely day out again. If we do it again next year could you sort the A64 out as it was a dire journey home!! Chris and Linda

We would like to thank John Hawkins for opening up the garage specially for our event, his wife, Tanya for organising the refreshments, Annie, Mark and Phil for assisting. Carol did a great job with the raffle raising money for the Air Ambulance. Once again the weather was brilliant and the drive over the moors with the roads to ourselves was incredible. Lets hope parking in Whitby will improve when their Park and Ride opens next month. Cannot do a lot about the A64 it has been waiting for an upgrade for probably 20 years despite our MP now holding a post in the Ministry of Transport, albeit for cycling! Chris you must get out your map and find smaller roads to get back to Leeds and not join the car park on the A64. Hope to meet at the Big Breakfast on Easter Sunday. Regards Rita & John

Thanks to John and Rita for putting the day together and John Hawkins and team for putting on such great hospitality. We had a brilliant turn out, 45 cars parked up in Whitby and Trenchers did a great job of looking after us, very efficient and tasty. We managed to raise £147 for the Air Ambulance which is a brilliant amount so well done everyone. John how you sorted out the sun shine is beyond me, I really thought we were going to get snow. Chris (and others) I will give you the route around the A64 so you don't have to sit on the car park for hours, it only adds 5 minutes to the journey, if that, and has some nice roads which are generally pretty quiet. I will attach this to routes home where we are that way out. Basically pop into Malton and go almost all the way through and take the right hand turn for Castle Howard, go through the estate walls and turn right a the top of the hill for Bulmer, follow for a couple of miles and turn left for Flaxton, turn left and then next right and just follow all the way to the A1237 York ring road. Turn left on the ring road and you will be back on the A64 dual in minutes.

Cracking day - super job by John and Rita as ever. Far more work goes in to planning events like these than is ever obvious to the casual observer. John Hawkins as generous as ever in opening up the showroom specially for us and laying on the refreshments via Tanya. Roll on next year! Andrew

A brilliant day out for us ,and thanks to John and Rita for the organisation and the sun trip back was a bit dire near Thirsk plenty of hail and snowy stuff . Great fish and chips and a free service for the 3.2 SSE courtesy of John Hawkins cant be bad . Looking forward to the day out

I wasn't sure if I could make it so I never raised my hand, but as it happened the girlfriend and I did drive to Whitby, and we had a look round all the cars (very impressive sight). Will try and get to the next regional meet to say hello.

Yes- thanks to all for the organisation. Made to feel very welcome with my 2 boys- wife wishes she had come along now! Did that big blue boat ever get in the water? Got bored of waiting for something to happen Greg, Henry and Stan Parkin (21, 8 and 4 yrs old!)
