Well done Mark. It will be like having a new engine. Should be good for another 100,000 miles plus. This ones a keeper !

Thanks for the reply Mark[:)],really hope you are right!,i asked the technician that took it to bits and he said he was really amazed at the lack of wear on the engine, what i was amazed at was the time it took him to do the job, there was no faffing about- it was out,Stripped, inspected, parts ordered, back together and in- a really good service i thought.Like i said it feels smoother, quieter, and a bit torquier aswell although he did ask that we take it easy for the first five hundred miles or so then have a new oil/ filter so at that point i will really know the deal.Even the ABS and four wheel drive light switch off nearly immediately, before you had to drive a few meters...?!?So, so far so good,v pleased[:)]

ORIGINAL: MarkK Take some pics and tell us what you swap on it??
Will do. It's booked in for their menu priced top end rebuild, replace the rear tin, various identified leaks that include timing chain cover and power steering pump, new starter motor and upgrade to light weight flywheel and clutch.

I have my hands over my ears and can't hear you! [:D]

so did 2.5k parts and 40 hours add up to £6.5k? It all adds up so quickly! Mind you I can't talk. My most recent porsche (2.7 MFI, not 964) rebuild cost 13k! oooooooooouuuuuuuuuch Graham
