i know a few of you have installed Darren's kits... i'm intending to get one but am torn between the classic white or the electric blue..any thoughts? Does the blue look out of place on what now quite a classic car? Mmmm.. decisions, decisions

I reckon you should go for the classic white with some custom dial faces. I'm not convinced about blue lighting with the black dials......

(BTW, I have some nice photoshop templates of the gauges to make your own..... 180MPH speedo only though. I never got any help on a 160MPH speedo scan)

You obviously ain't seen them in the flesh, in the dark, then. [;)]

The blue LED's are superb. They give a nice blue glow to the pod and, because of the higher UV content, the orange needles and markers glow. It takes 10 years of the age of the dash.

Personally I would avoid the white LED's as I think they might be too bright - you can't dim the LEDs 'cos they don't work like that.

show us a pic John!?

I've got Perry's white LED's on my white dials, and I like it. Definately not too bright but a darn sight better than stock (well, using a candle would be better than stock! [:D] )

Your wish is my command!

I also have a cunning plan for illuminating the switches in front of the gear stick, but I'm not telling you how until I have tried it out first.

Mmmm. not bad at all. The green on your boost controller (?) doesn't match though! [;)]

Have you attempted the LED conversion on the heater controls? I just can't pluck up the courage to have a go!

I think that's a Road Angel. The Road Angel 2 is blue which would match. [FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Darren has had a pop at the heater controls - he can probably fill you in on the details of why it is not happening.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Well, just to sway you away from John's taste ([:'(] [:D])!, i'll snap a pic of mine in the dark tonight!

No need to worry, you can trust me, I'm a designer. Just buy the blue and you will be happy.

well, here's mine!

I'm not 100% happy about the little shaded parts on the bottom of the dials, but then I guess that's because of the LED conversion I'm using. Flamingeye's looks better in that respect.....! The pic doesn't do the dials justice though. They are actually a brushed aluminium finish to match my two autometer gauges on the a-pillar!

John, what do you design? I do car interiors (when I'm not on sabbaticals!) [:D]

I could tell you but, I would have to kill you [:D], suffice to say I used to get paid for shooting things. Take a look at the web site.

And will they have negative mass, thus prividing both light and lightness?[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]I imagine LEDs score over traditional filament bulbs by not having so many of those heavy watts to cope with [8D][FONT=verdana,geneva"]
