Forza Motorsport 3 on Xbox

Sounds like a laugh in the end. I had to go (or felt I should at least) ... had been at work all day and my quick "I've got to at least try this out for 1/2 an hour" trip to my gaming exile corner of the attic was rapidly extending into hours.[:D] I wondered who the "I've got a wooden wooden steering wheel!" guy was... LOL Catch you again another time hopefully. Made sure my first forza3 online outing was mainly in a 944 too.

ORIGINAL: 944 man Ive made a Porsche office chair before and Im just making a WRX chair at present (whichs far more comfortable).
OT: I would like to know how you did this as I may do the same with the pinstripe cloth seats that came out of my S2 originally.

Remove the runners, which are attached by four cap headed bolts. Then its relatively simple to adapt the mounting centres to those of an old office chair. Ive made a square frame to match the seats mounting centres, with a pair of longitudinally mounted bars fixed inside this frame matching the bases mounting centres. Simon

Ha ha cant beleive how popular this is! I thought it was just me that got addicted to this series of games. I don't even play other games but Forza just seems to capture my imagination. Love the whole setup with steering wheel, clutch and 944 seat + mahuge TV[;)] ..I thought this was supposed to be the cheap alternative to tracking your car lol.

Feel free to send a friend request to me, Squirtydog [:)] With poprock and pastry we'd have 4 on the grid for a 944 battle.

[&o] wish I COULD! I don't have Xbox live at the moment I'm living out of boxes as I've had to give up my nice house to save money whilst I change jobs!

Mattasahatter13 looking to challenge other Porsche drivers and may contact you with a friends request if that's OK. Controller rather than steering wheel at the moment, though who knows what goodies Father Christmas may bring.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Don't tell me that the game also features the Nurburgring?? (sorry for the spelling). If so I am going to break my resolve not to buy a gaming console. I want to learn the 'ring using a realistic 944 S2 on a gaming console and then when my car is back on the road and back to full health- do it for real![:D]

It has all the tracks and the Nurburg is the most realistic version I've seen. Complete with bumps, graffiti and nasty kerbs. Watching a video recently on Pistonheads I found it looked almost identical to the game. Still struggling to find the campsite I was watching the 24hr from?! I thought I know where I was on the track but now I'm not so sure!! p.s. has anyone else found that the 996 GT3 has a high tendancy to roll if you clip the kerbs with an inside wheel? I one saw a youtube clip of it happening to a real GT3 at the ring which I thought was a freak accident but it keeps happening on the game! Hmmm I'll bear that in mind if I ever drive the real car.

On Forza, the only thing that annoys me on the 944 is the rear fogs illuminate under braking. Must be a US spec car? And if thats the only thing, it can't be bad [;)]

"It has all the tracks and the Nurburg is the most realistic version I've seen. Complete with bumps, graffiti and nasty kerbs. Watching a video recently on Pistonheads I found it looked almost identical to the game." You do realise you've just condemned me to finally relenting and buying a games console. I always said I would only get an Xbox/wee/PS3 etc if they had a racing game on which you could drive a 944 round the 'ring................. I'll have to make sure I ONLY get that game as I don't want to waste too much of my life on computer games, but this is different, this is vital research!

My steering wheel is away with Microsoft being repaired, so I’ve been Forza-less for a week or two now …

Ha ha I'd love to do a REAL Nurburg meet up event with other 944 enthusiasts. We could have various competitions running with silly prizes like using a standard 944 on the game and seeing if you can match the time in your car. Closest wins. Or challenge for the fastest in the group on the game and challenge for fastest on the track and see how the rankings compare:) Better be getting myself back in one again toot sweet for next year!!![;)]

Most console games are pretty unrealistic and way too easy to drive fast times comapred to real life. They don't punish you enough if you go off line or touch the kerbs/ grass. Years ago I used a very old PC game called GP Legends to learn the Nurburgring, and that game was so hard that it took me months of practice to actually beat my real in-car video I took at the Nurburgring. Sadly I think my wife even has a picture somewhere of me at the PC with the telly on in the background trying to beat myself [&o] However, it would definatley be fun to organise an online 944 race. Especially if we could 'virtually' hang around in the paddock afterwards talking the usual bxxxxxxx that we do, whilst someone changes their track tyres back to the road legal version for the drive home [:D]
