Steve,
This was one of my Fav cars of the day (the orange GT3RS also looked great machines).

Is that "The Stig" having a passenger ride in the Ludo car. [:D]
I don't know if I have the guts to go out on the track in a GT3 RSR when there's rain on the ground!

Chris, myself and a couple of friends are at Oulton on Saturday April 4th. One of them even has a boxster and MR2 like yourself. He'll be taking the MR2 on track. Come along for passenger rides if you want. [:)]

Steve,

Sounds like fun!![8D]

I had my MR2 for over 8 years now, and only lost it once in the pouring rain with a flat tyre on the rear.
The MR2 isn't as forgiving or planted as the 986 at speed, it's doesn't like long sweeping bends at full power and then lifting off the power mid bend, it will spin and you can't recover from it. I think it's because it lacks the power of the Porsches to pull the back in like the Boxster can as it's got a 911 front end.

I was offered an SuperCharger Mk1 the other day, but love my Boxster to much for the faster stuff.

It was amazing how Colin could keep the 911 nearly sideways in the bends in total control without the car biting back, maybe it's the design of the 911 or it's the track tyres and his skill as a race driver.
Reminded me of very fast Go-Karts, but the trouble with them is refinement is zero, and the brakes aren't that good as they easily lock up due to the low weight of the Kart.

I see what I got lined up for the Saturday, be good to compare the MR2 on the track.
Maybe invite some of the MR2 club lads down to watch, many of them do track days...

I assume it's an open track day and your meeting up in the Morning 10:00am time ?
Is your friends Mr2 a Mk1 1986-89 model ?

Track opens at 8.30 so we'll be there from the start. See the thread on boxa.net about our Oulton trip in the trackdays section to ask Ziggy about what MR2 he has - all I know is that it's an old one so I'm guessing a Mk1. [:D]

Cheers Steve, I will take a look on Boxa.net.
If it a 1600cc and over 20 years old then it's a Mk1.

@Fraser: Thanks for sending me the photos of our cars! [8D]

Didn't know they could look so good, not bad for 20+ year old cars.

Nice one, I will show Bill (Mk1 MR2 club).
