It dont half mount up!!!!!

Looking forward to fitting them over Christmas.

If you got them from Adrian then I'm afraid "Curry Couriers (we give a whole new meaning to 'hot-shot')" is closed for the holidays [:D]

Guys,
I'm still reading up on this stuff but do the OPC people actually call these parts castor mounts! The mounts are for the suspoension A Arm (wishbone), which happens to have an eccentric fixing.

I suggest fixing will affect Camber and Toe significant more than Castor (if any). For race applications, extreme adjustment of this fixing (along with a decrease in ride height) will give 3 - 3.5 deg of -ve camber.

The 944 gives a significant range of suspension geometry adjustment, the downside is that it is therefore prudent to have it checked frequently, preferably when the tyres are new, because 944 and 911's do go out of adjustment and a correctly set up car will run surprisingly well!!

Yes I believe so, the camber is adjusted by the eccentric on the strut, the toe by the steering arms, and whilst the castor mount will affect the others it is the only place to adjust the castor.

Actually no [&:] my invoice lists them as 'rear mount', presumably because it is the rear mount for the A-Arm (wishbone). It's amazing how we have so many names for the same thing [8|]

I'll be fiddling with the suspension soon.

You get camber from both the strut and the rear mount. The strut gives fine adjustment, the rear mount gives significantly more.

In general like most suspension systems if you adjust one parameter it upsets/changes many others. So the set up process is iterative and thus time consuming.

I'll be happy to report on my experience in the next couple of months as I prepare my car to race in the PCGB club championships. Currently its a toss up between buying an existing racecar or preparing my existing 944S2, decision soon!!

Suspension spec and set up is currently under investigation.
