Front Luggage Compartment

The last cm of key's blade doesn't go into the lock cylinder.
My ignition keys does the glove box, but my luggage bay isn't key lockable.
Mine is an '89 Cab and it has the barrel lock which utilises the ignition key.
Turn key anti-clockwise to lock.
Try giving the barrel a gentle tap with a small hammer when the key is inserted to see it this encourages the tumblers to move (or free themselves).
Good luck!
My '84 UK Coupe has the locking front bonnet, the lock is located centrally in the pull handle. When locked the handle can't be pulled out. Interestingly, it is not referred to in the original handbook (covering all Carreras and the Turbo) and the handbook picture shows a bonnet pull without a lock.3.2_fordy said:Ray never seen a locking front bonnet, have you a photo were the lock is situated.
The cars were originally delivered with three types of keys, locking wheel nut keys (not relevant to the original question), master keys (the ones with the black head with light in it) and secondary keys (with a smaller red handle without a light). The master key fitted all locks, the secondary key only fitted the doors and the ignition. The idea was you could leave your car with a valet, or garage, and they could not gain access to a locked glove compartment, or bonnet, if you only gave them the red handled secondary key.
