Front radiator grills and OPC Warranty

Geoff

I raised a couple of questions on this issue as regards my current 991 with Porsche GB which they were unable to answer so they sent them on to PAG.

As it stands I am still waiting to hear what PAG have to say and so won't comment further here at this stage. No doubt PAG are distracted by GT3 problems just now but unless I hear shortly I shall have to send them a reminder.

Well ....... From all the logical comment ...... I can see no reason why grills cannot and even should not be fitted to protect the radiators of our cars. I understand that the Insurance/warranty may use this as a get out, and realistically who in business wouldn't try to avoid paying out money. ....... If the OPC's are offering conflicting interpretations ( I applaud the pragmatic approach and am disappointed by the OPC that has been looking after my cars for some years by saying that fitting grills affects airflow ) a solution is required. I am going to approach a bespoke car builder ( he builds award winning bespoke hot rods ) to see if he can design grills with suitable clips that can be fitted without modifying the front end from the outside without removing the PU and can be removed ( unclipped ) when going for OPC service and any other issues.

I am soon looking to have some track fun with my car and that coupled with my local councils delight in gluing granite chippings to our potholed ridden roads something must be done.

I will let you all know if a suitable quick release solution can be found...... I live in hope

PS. I spoke to the OPC that has just sold me my new car ( not the one who had been looking after my previous ) and they were unconcerned, esp if they got the job of fitting them.......
