Fuchs reps on a 964 - discuss!

I was actually going to go down this road back in the summer with my 964. I priced up a 3 piece split rim replica sold by Image Design and also looked at the Linea Course Fox. I didnt bother in the end as I couldnt find any photos of the Fox and the splittys worked out v.expensive!

Now that ive seen photos of a 964 running Fuchs reps im a little unsure. It really gives the car a classic look.

Chris

I think the Fuchs takes the car back too far in looks. The black wheels, or cup 1s look is good, or what Steve has done with the more motorsport focussed multispoked wheels looks good.

The 90s race car look is going to stand out in its own right soon - lead the way!!! :)

check the wheels on the orange clubsport here http://www.gtclassics.co.uk/gtclassics2.htm

Too retro for me. I thought the same when I saw photos of the new limited edition 911 (997) classic. However the latter sold out very quickly which just goes to show that we all have different tastes which I think is a good thing [:)]

Hmmm, I suppose that really the only wheel I love more than the Cup1 on the 964 would be the 18" BBS LMs.

Didn't like the 19" Fuchs reps on that 997 Classic abomination at all, but the 17" ones look good on the 3.2s etc, from what I've seen.

Not to my taste on a 964................

I too would only consider swapping my Cups for a set of BBS cross spokes (or similar) as per that orange clubsport.

Anyone looked into Compomotive's offering? I think they stopped doing these but have started making them again now........ Compomotive CXN

I may be a little biased, but you are clearly a man with good taste [;)]

Not sure on the Fuchs, but they certainly give the 964 a more dated look.

I'm in two minds on this as I think that I would err on the side that the fuchs don't suit the 964's more rounded lines - but still a lovely classic wheel.

Benny, is that little black number yours? Very sweeeeeet [:)]

that turbo just makes my jaw drop every time... unbelievable beauty!

Personally I love black cup 1's, but the Fuchs add a classic look really suits 964.

Wash your mouth out, it's midnight blue I'll have you know [:D]

Those Fuchs would look good on a car with a ducktail spoiler. Don't think I've seen too many on 964 though.

I do apologise, must have been the ambient lighting, anywhichway nice!

In the early 90's I had a sorremto green 205 GTI 1.9 which depending on the lighting would regularly get mistaken for anthracite, or black, but was lovely dark green. Thinking of green early 3.3 turbos could be had in a dark almost olive metallic green, a friend had one with matching leather too [:D]

Off to open a bottle of red now with which to wash my mouth out as instructed, but I won't be spitting it out!

I love those green 205's. At the time, white was always the one to have, but if I was to pick one now it would have be the green. Not seen any green Turbos (other than the minty ones), but is it this "Forest Green"?. Quite nice although this photo probably doesn't do it justice. Not sure I'd go for the matching leather though!

Thanks. I'll have to stop whoring it about on the net at every opportunity soon. You know what it's like when you get a new toy though!

Very nice! Can't believe it's 16 years since I had my green one , but out of the last 21 years there have only been about 2 when I haven't had a GTi!

911's were but a far off dream back then.................

Ive always had a soft spot for the Pug 1.9 GTi. Almost bought an MI16 conversion a couple of years ago.

I just really need a double garage!!!

Chris

I always wanted a GTi, but at the time when my mate had one and another friend had a Renault 5 Turbo, I could only afford a lowly XR2i.
