Thanks Matt, I never would have thought that this consumption could be achieved by an 'S'. I'm targetting a 2.7 mainly because of fuel economy, but there really doesn't seem much in it.

Mine averages about 27 mpg, and its blue so it should be more representative of what your going to get. Though mine has the black leather so you might get more mpg out of one with beige leather...[;)]

on a long motorway haul you might get up to 30 to 32 mpg, on a b-road blat about 24 mpg - I've now got a 3.2 (550) and have previously owned a 2.7 and don't find a discernable difference between consumption - my reasoning is that I had to push the 2.7 that bit harder to get the performance I wanted, thus negating any improved consumption. I use super unleaded only - have experimented with normal unleaded and while I never felt much difference I certainly got poorer consumption from the normal unleaded - enough to more than make up the cost of the super. I've also found in all my cars to get better consumption from BP Ultimate than Optimax.

Have you seen the trip computer shots that I have posted?? These MPG figures were achieved using 95RON fuel.

I found no discernable difference using the more expensive fuel except in the wallet department on long journeys.

Both my 99T 986 2.5 and 2003 (facelift) 986 3.2 achieved great fuel economy on the M'Way, in fact the 3.2 seems slightly better as its not working quite so hard.

Of course when you push on the 3.2 likes to see the bottom of the glass a bit quicker than the 2.5!!
