Fuel Pressure Testing

I doubt that the plunger could cause the issue. You would have poor starting a lot more often or feel flat spots when you put your foot down.
My intermittent starting on my SC was caused by corrosion on the fuel pump fuse.
Perhaps post a video of the cold start issue.
