Did fifty miles in mine last year most of that was going for a service. Is that Queen enough?
IB's like to be driven, that sort of mileage is actually detrimental to the car................

Nope. I like to look at it but drive it not so much. Always wanted one as a kid and just happy to own it! I'll drive it time to time and that's all I want. And I'm not so sure it is bad for it mine has never been used much under 20k on the clock and they love it at Porsche not any leaks always starts on the button. But for me the best looking 911 ever produced.

Each to their own, I don't get it personally. But I know it's not unusual.

I think how it is kept determines the damage caused by lack of use.

125k mileage, dry as a bone, 254 BHP via a custom dyno map, starts on the button, 5k mileage each and very year for the last 15, just had an upgraded clutch (you must still have the old rubber donuts thing, LSD and C12 brakes going on soon.

As you can see usage doesn't effect the car, but non usage will result in certain components seizing or deteriorating as the are not being adequately being flexed, lubricated, etc. etc.

Yes each to their own but its a car not a portrait, I hope it stays in good shape for you and Yes agree the best looking 911 [8D]

For me its how it makes me feel when I open the garage door. And it is a work of art! And yes it's how it came out of the factory and if Porsche were happy I am.

Mine is definitely a garage Queen. A 1989 G 3.2 Sport in Guards. I have owned her for 23 years and up until this month she had amassed
42,000 miles. My son had always moaned about the fact that I wouldn't put him on the insurance, but I kept telling him that my insurance company would not put him on the policy until he was 30. But on the 1st of March the dreaded occasion happened, he turned 30! So he came up with the plan for us to take a road trip in celebration of his birthday and that he could now drive my baby.
His plan was to do a weekend trip down to Monaco, take the car around the F1 circuit, do some video with his GO-PRO, do some photo shoots with the car, particularly in front of the Casino and then drive home.
Now the thought of putting on 2,000 miles on my baby wasn't great, but the thought of doing it in a weekend was pretty daunting.
Just to say we left home on the Thursday evening arriving in Monaco on Friday lunchtime. Then we had a great 2 night stay. The car drew a lot of admiring glances and photographers and a lot of questions from passers by. My son got all the footage and photos that he wanted and we left Monaco on Sunday evening and arrived home in Staffordshire on Monday morning. Overall 2072 miles in a weekend.
The car never missed a beat and we both had a great time.
I suppose it takes a bit of forceful persuasion to get you out of your comfort zone, but when you do it you look back and say that was great.
She is now tucked up back in the garage.

Hi Paul,
You know mine is my only vehicle for the past 18 years (will turn 150,000km soon). You should see the looks we get when we shop at the supermarket.
Since moving to Scotland last year, it is definitely a garage baby now in the winter but luckily spring arrived early this year and he has been out since early March.
Melinda
p.s. miss you London/Kent guys....

As values have risen unfortunately mine has been less driven...
Tends to be used for days out (Porsche shows, National Trust estates + + ) and for euro trips (Classic Le mans, Germany (obviously), Austria, Italy, Switzerland + + )
I don't really use my Carrera for just going to the pub or popping up to the village or in to town and I never go to work in it any more...the values are too high for me to use the 3.2 on a daily basis

Actually thinking of selling the 3.2 cos I bought it to drive...have thoroughly enjoyed owning it over last decade or so - not my style to have a 'garage baby' though

Just bought a '73 914 to use and drive come rain or shine - went out in it yesterday in the sun and been out in it today and its pi$$ing it down....

I've owned mine for over 12 years, purchased with 80k miles on the clock, now close to 130.
I purchased it with high mileage so I could use it and not we afraid of putting more miles on it.

Mine goes out at least once a week all year round so gets washed once a week looks good sounds good and makes me feel brill
damn fine [see as many of you as can make it in Weymouth on 15/07/16 ]
Paul

There is a one owner Supersport down the road from me with 21k from new one owner, hardly been out of the county which is a real shame.

Just returned from MOT station in torrential rain and pleased to say PASSED with no advisory looked good all wet just goes to show a frequent driver is worth the pleasure

Another one MoT'd and ready for more fun this season. It's already been out and met new friends on the Carrera 3.2 WOTY and is soon to make more at the Dorset R26 WPOP.
