As raised at the November meeting, would anyone interested in attending a Region 10 track day - or half-day or evening - please respond here and include both your preferred track(s) and whether you are a novice or have prior experience? I can get discounts of bookings of 10 or more drivers through bookatrack.com or goldtrack.co.uk Obviously any evening event wouldn't be until the clocks change back next spring.

Chris.

Thanks, Chris.
Count me in, please. Novice... any track[:)], within reasonable striking distance of Bedford.
Pref full day.

Chris

Yes I would be interested in a track day next year, prefer a full day at a 'safe' track (i.e. not the likes of Cadwell.
I have done a track day many years ago on a bike and 30 laps of the 'Ring in a Focus ST.
With many years of competitive kart racing I would put myself in intermediate plus!

Hi Chris,
Same as Paul

Helmet hire for first timers?

Would this be sharing the track with other car's or an exclusive event ?

Cheers
John.

I would be interested.

Novice category - 1 track day in Oct 2014 at Bedford Autodrome.

Is this likely to go ahead?

I can immediately offer 2nd and/or 16th Feb at Bedford Autodrome for £120 via my friend Dave at OpenTrack.

If you'd like to state a preference here, we can start booking places. I've also pinged the guys on the BoXa.net forum so we're likely to get some Boxsters and Caymans along too.

I'd be interested, Chris (either date) - depending on above... and any limitations, etc we should know about? Definite novice on this, but yearning to get out there[;)]

Its open pit lane and Dave never runs high numbers, so it should be the safest track day you can do!

Chris.

Yep I'll be interested on either days weather permitting!

Dave uses ex-F1 driver Mike Wilds as instructor and a session of instruction is included in the price. Mike is one of the nicest motorsport blokes you'll ever meet. I'm also happy to take drivers out for passenger laps or sit in with you.

Chris.

Yep this could be good but only for the 2nd.

How many places to you need to fill before it can go ahead.
Would we be able to rent a crash helmet as I'm a complete novice...... track day insurace advise ?

I need to know this too, with other requirements for track - and what is the minimum number, Chris, please?
If date needs to be the 2nd to get numbers up, I'm OK with that.

These events will go ahead regardless - its not going to be exclusively us - unless we could get at least 30 drivers!

I've asked about helmets - I know some TDOs bring them.

Track day insurance is up to the driver. I used to have cover as part of my Mannings policy but I switched to a different provider to save money. Bedford is one of the safest circuits in the UK - there is bags of runoff virtually all round the circuit.

Chris.

Note that novices are offered a free black and yellow novice cross sticker for their car - just like a proper racing driver!

Helmets are available to hire for £20 - please see:
