Gaydon 31st May - Who's going?

I'll be there with the 911 3.2. Also booked 3 laps of the track.

My first trip to Gaydon.

See you there

They've sorted the rad hose out on the white car today so guess what I'll be taking! [:D] Think the guys at RPM have clearly been very busy recently!

What a nice day Sunday was, this event has a good club feel to it and a great selection of cars to drool over. The only downer is the music blaring away, but this seems a feature of many events at Gaydon.

The test track was fun, it's quite an odd experience being surrounded by quite so many cars travelling at a decent pace, I was concerned that not being able to get close to the limits of grip might make it a little dull, but honestly it wasn't. I'm think of applying to go on the Supercar Sunday one at the end of the month as the thought of being surrounded by the noise of 12 cylinder engines should be great fun.

I completely forgot to take pictures, I only managed to take the two below, neither of which has a 944 in it [:)]

Yep it was a good day out for very little cash, nice to see a few forum members there.

Peter gave me a fatanstic demonstration of just how raw his car is now, on the road and the test track. I can't wait for a proper demo at Silverstone on July 14th [8D] The noise inside is incredible with no interior or sound deadening and makes the car feel like 100mph when it's only doing 50. I don't know how much weight has been lost but it makes the acceleration from the tweaked S2 engine seem so punchy compared to my fully weighted up S2

Your car certainly looked the business Peter, and I was happy to see it out on the test track at the same time as me!

Thanks Tony [:)] I'm not sure if I remember seeing your car on track (there were quite a few of us [:D]), there was a black Turbo alongside us with blacked out rear lights, was that you?

Yep, that's me. Smoked rear lights, front and side indicators. Tinted windows graduated to full tint on the rear hatch. I like the car looking very black"”the opposite of yours!

It was great to see so many on the track runs. Last year it was a lot quieter (even though the show was as well attended). I was on the final track run last year in the pouring rain and I think there was only seven of us.

Very stealthy, would have made a good photo opportunity to park them next to one another [;)]
