Gen1 or 2, OPC or Private?

ORIGINAL: alexoctagon

Hi everyone,

I sold my 996C2 a few weeks ago and after making sure all was OK on the finances front I can now go for a 997, a Gen1 C2S or possibly 1 year old Gen2 C2 with PDK. Either way I'm thinking of the PSE, can anyone point me to an in-car video on YouTube of how this sounds on 997 Gen1/2?

Also I was wondering how many of you guys buy from an OPC and how many private. I bought my 996 privately and got a great deal last time but it took ages to track down. The OPC's prices always seem about £5k above private buyers, do they come down much on price, does it pay to buy from an OPC?

Any advise would be much appreciated.

Cheers, Alex

Hi Alex

Checked on the trade Value of my Car over the last few weeks and best price was Tom Harley @ £65K (3 Weeks ago) yesterday got a price from an OPC who quoted mid to high £50s so I would think you should be able get a early (08) Gen 2 Car with PDK for well under £60K if you could find the Private seller who may need a quick sale I reckon there'd snap your hand off at about £53K/£54K as the trade value would seem to be around the high £40Ks (going on the trade value of my 09 C4S)
So looks like I'll be staying with Porsche for the time being and who said Datsuns would be hard to sell (C4S Over 20 Thousand Pound Depreciation in less than 10 Weeks wow)

Seriously, the opc offered in the late 50s. They are putting them up on their forecourts for 73k-75k.
Let me know what opc it was and ill have a look at their stock and offer mid 60s for any of their stock cars.
There not doing themselves any favours are they? First the warranty now back to offering ridiculous part ex offers. Mind you they need the cash at the moment.
