Gen2 HPFP Issue

It's one of those things you dont know if its worth doing until it fails on your car. Certainly quite a big job taking all afternoon by the time he road tested it and rechecked the diagnostics. I just checked the coolant level and can see the 2 marks, but there is no fluid to be seen so placed a call with the OPC asking what I should do now. Don't want to just add water add as the recepionist said when I asked her for some top up coolant.

Has anyone had an HPFP changed free of charge out of warranty? Or have all cars either been under original warranty or Porsche Extended Warranty? I don't have Extended Warranty and it seems strange to me that my March 2009 car hasn't so far been subject to this scheme, even though I have asked about it, and I have 34k miles up.

Jeff, Techie called and said as system takes 22 L to top up with 1 lite of water is OK. infact it took about 1/3rd of litre to reach Full mark. See new Boxster details today, does not offer 7 speed manual gearbox - dissappointing as will be same on new Cayman.

22 litres - That's a lot of coolant Chris.! See my comments on the lack of a Boxster 7-speed manual box on the other post. Jeff

As I understand it Brian, there is only a limited recall based upon a faulty batch of HPFPs and Porsche will only replace the item FOC on affected cars. Presumably, yours isn't one of them. Jeff
