I have decided having attended the Silverstone event and a test drive at my local OPC to take the plunge and go for the new car.
My spec is:
C2S Cab with PDK and Sports Chrono
Aqua blue with stone grey interior.
Sat Nav, telephone and voice control.
Cruise and park assist, Home link
MP3/iPod connectivity
Adaptive sports seats - heated
I have previously had the 19" carrera classic wheels which are easy to keep clean and am not sure about the standard S wheels
? is the tyre pressure monitoring worthwhile

Any comments would be appreciated.

? is the tyre pressure monitoring worthwhile

IMO one of the most important options; being able to check that tyre pressures are all balanced while driving is very comforting and can help avoid a major incident.

Given my ageing butt and the speed bumps in my home vicinity is the ride and road clearance going to be a problem with the 20mm reduction in ride height.

I think I will spec the tyre pressure monitor but as the car will be a fair weather toy I dont think that a heated wheel is necessary.

Thanks for the advice.

I have ordered it cos it goes with the best gearbox there is (new PDK) and the SC Plus - given you will have launch control etc surely you need the best suspension too? It also looks great - did you see how well the guards red C2S looked in the showroom area compared to the others. Plus you get a mechanical diff - all this for £750 - it is the best value option on the list!

If I were you I would get it esp as you are not using the car every day......just my thoughts!!!

Have ordered the car today. Spec as above but with blue roof, 19" classic Carrera wheels, voice control and tyre pressure monitor.

My current car goes at the end of this month and will be Porscheless until mid October!!!

What spec are you getting. Are you going to have retro fitted a sports exhaust and if so have your OPC quoted a price on it. I have sports exhaust on my current C2 which is good but also a visual improvement on standard tubes.

This is my spec:

C2S Coupe
Ruby Red
19" Carrera Sport Wheels
Black leather
Sports Seats
PDK
Sport Chrono Plus icw PDK
Heated Seats
Heated steering wheel
Floor mats
Rear section of centre console painted in ext colour
Door entry guards in Stainless Steel
PCM extended Navigation
Bluetooth telephone module
PASM Sport with - 20mm and LSD
iPod adapter

I would have ad more leather but not available with first orders.

Originally I was going to have the sports exhaust but when it was not available I kinda forgot about it. I think some OPCs are offering the retro fit at the new order price for those of us that couldn't order it?? I have decided to wait and see what I think after a couple thousand miles, remembering that the visual part is enhanced on the gen 2. I can always add it on as an Xmas present to myself!!

You should get your new baby in less than 2 weeks. Post a picture and safe and enjoyable driving.

I like to hear the sound of the engine so the music sound sytem is not that important to me.

Not planning any long motorway runs then?

This is where the Bose system comes into its own, long schleps up and down the motorway. the new Bose System is quite a step up on the Gen1 too.

However if I was buying purely for a backroad beast I wouldn't get the Bose.

Does anybody know what the sports exhaust will cost on Gen2 cars.

£1276.00 incl VAT. Available Nov 08. If you order now, the OPC should be able to subsequently fit it retrospectively for the same price.

Agreed - the Porsche system shows you the pressure in each tyre, rather than just telling you if one tyre has changed pressure (which can be due to weather changes) like the system on my old M3, which gave numerous false alarms. I'd never spec a Porsche without it.
