Genuine 944 S2 ?

As Ive said before: if you want to adopt an attitude like that, you need to have spent a damned sight more money in the first place. Being so precious about a 944 is foolish/deluded.

Looks good I paid £5K happily for a similar condition black 91 S2 with 110K last month after getting fed up looking at the rubbish advertised at £3-£4k.
Would go and have a good look though as my recent search showed most 944 vendors think theirs is the cleanest most rust free, best service history example left in the world and most are wrong.
I looked at several on Ebay and they were the worst of the lot.
Rich

Crikey, someone who thinks along the same lines as me. 98% of the muppets on here would rather buy the cheapest old 944 nail they can, and if the mileage is astronomic, they see that as a bonus. I would keep quite about having a nice clean 944 on here Dickiet, you and I are the minority. And heavens forbid if you actually wash your car, like it to look clean, and don't drive it everyday.

Here come the regular 'guests' aka non members to boast about how many millions miles they have on their daily sh1twagons........

Oh dear me.
You REALY need to get out more.
OR go and swear at some other forum, this REALY isnt the place for you.
I hope you dont go to some of the shows next year + introduce yourself, as im sure you wil be made MOST unwelcome....

Ahhhh, the Sc0tty question. I'm not sure that he ever has been 'removed', but I know that his posts have all had to be 'approved' by moderators before appearing on the board on occasions before. I suspect that words have been said (as per McNulters' post earlier), but don't think it has ever gone further than that. 'Sc0tty incidents' (such as on this thread) seemed to happen just about every month on here, but it has been quite a while since the last one; I was thinking it was an episode that had passed. Alas, clearly not.

I've tried to stick up for Sc0tty a bit before - both on here, and when meeting other forum people. And ... I guess I'll do it again. I know that Sc0tty has self-moderated a number of his posts on occasions gone by, and I think he is just quick to post things and not realise at the time how offensive they can be. I've never met the chap, but understand that he can be quite affable in person. Stories suggest he is initially quite stand-offish, but that soon passes. Which further supports the notion that he is perhaps a bit too quick to speak his mind; and who hasn't said things that they l later came to regret? I know I have.

Given the size of this forum (very small), and the fact that it is very friendly, and that the number of 944's on the road is diminishing year-by-year (Sc0tty is right on this one, they are rusting away), there is little to be gained from falling out. We all know what is good behaviour and what is bad behaviour (pretending that turbos are better than S2's, for instance), so let's point out (and laugh at) the bad behaviour and move on. We are all 944 enthusiasts, which is why we are here. Some of us are enthusiastic about driving filthy dirty 944's, some of us are enthusiastic about having a nice shiny 944 in their garage and trundling it around on sunny days. We differ in minor ways, but have much more in common than not.

Let's move on and leave Sc0tty in peace.

Oli.
well said oli! , i have not yet met james [scotty] but he as been very complementary about my 165,000 mile baby after viewing the paint correction job i had a while back and provided me with info about where to get clear indicators, i am aware some of his posts can be negative and in the very least confrontational but i dont believe this effects the general "feeling" of the forum, it seems scotty has a gripe with the member/ non member stuff and it rears its head with these posts [ if your reading this james, i am not defending you,i am sure your more then capable of doing that yourself, i am just saying it as i see it], at the end of the day we all love our 944s, if using them daily or like myself at weekends, just cant be too precious about them or might forget to enjoy them, cheers jason p

Well if anyone is interested, my 944 S2 is up for sale. Despite the For Sale price, I'm looking for £5000. Very comprehensive details are here. http://www.dashnetix.co.uk/porsche944s2/

I've fettled it for the last 2.5 years and it needs nothing. The MOT runs out in Jan, but I'd get it done before a new owner drives it away.

I need the money to fund my 993 purchase.

Is this Andy Mais' car? Great to see you've looked after since you bought it. One of the first cars I got to know when I joined the Club about 6 years ago, and it was exceptionally good then. [:)]

Yep , he owned it before the guy I bought it off. I'll be sad to see it go, but that 993 is calling.

Dave, did you buy it from someone in Cornwall? I seem to remember seeing a pic of it on the beach near Perranporth when it was for sale on Pistonheads and thought it was advertised at £4k....may not be the same car though [&:]

Being a pedant, I think the interior description should be 'half leather' as the front and rear seat facings are velour. I also wouldn't make too much of the 252 BHP as I don't believe this figure has ever been matched by another S.2

Looks to be in just as tidy nick as I remember when I use to see it on a regular basis in Amersham. Good luck with the sale.
