Later checks prove that it was six broken ribs and damage to the chest wall not a punctued lung.
On a lighter note.
The proof of an event is that it will run despite the absence of the team leader.
In this case I had done what I usually do and set up the documents and other items in Cornbury House days before the event.
I also have a first class team in Derek Sharp, John Sims, Paul McNulty, David and Lande Newton and Paul and Mary Kelley not forgetting my wife Mavis. There were other helpers such as Neale Smith, James Brickell and our new R/O's for Region 31.
I would like to thank Cotswold / St.George Rallyists past and present for their messages of support and good wishes. After a Rally I always say that it is the smile on your face that puts a smile on mine... This adds a new dimension.
Sorry about any typo's and spelling errors... This time I can put it down to the rather interesting medication.

Just following up from the ROs comment about Geoff's accident. He fell off his motorbike, fractured 4 ribs, punctured a lung and was unconscious for a bit. Now in hospital for a few days and obviously in some pain. Otherwise OK.

Geoff , sorry I only saw the thread now, but wishing you a very speedy recovery and the luck of us Irish in future. With my military background I can't help but wonder was it an assasination atempt or a hit gone wrong. One of my ambitions in life remains is to do a Cotswolds ( St George ) Rally.
No doubt you were at max RPM when it happened and your 991 GT3 screw was not loose ?

On behalf of your many many friends in Porsche Club Ireland.
Slainte Mhaith !
All the best Geoff.

Just an update. Dereks information was from Thursday.
Later checks prove that it was six broken ribs and damage to the chest wall not a punctued lung.
Glad to hear it.
You evidently bounce very well.
I hear Mavis has been buying your favourite comedy DVD's (to keep your spirits up of course...) and a supplier of Nitrous Oxide is currently being sought.

I think we should list our favorite jokes on this thread, just to tickle Geoff's ribs? [8|]

Geoff, I think I speak for all of us in saying we help with the events because we want to. It's not about recognition, or making it bigger every year, it's about a few of us getting more from helping than we would from just coming to the event.
If the board would just see this, we could make the bigger Club events so much better. There's a pool of willing helpers, but they aren't used well.
Thanks for the very nice jacket. That's exactly the sort of small touch that makes us keep coming back for more, and it's what you do so well. []

Board is seeing. []
Peter is the Events Director and in charge of the Club's presence at the Brands Hatch Festival of Porsche this September.
I am sure I can speak for him when I say he needs plenty of volunteers. PM him your ideas / give him a ring / speak to me and let's not hijack Geoff's thread!
It was all hands to the pump and it worked out brilliantly too, thanks to your preparation work, the club staff and volunteers.
I hope you're are back and firing on all 6 soon.

As Rob has said we do see this and we (I) acted on this as soon as I found out about Geoff's unfortunate accident on Saturday morning.
We always ask for volunteers for all our events and it's up to the individual member to come forward to offer their help and assistance when and if they can spare the time for which we are very grateful.
The classic example of members coming forward of late was at the WEC two weeks ago when Manjit, Paul and Ricky, stalwarts of the club, who between them volunteered to help the club and it's members out with parking over 3 days.
I am disappointed in your criticism and I think that you not only show a lack of respect to your fellows members but all those involved with putting on events across the whole club, either nationally or regionally, for the benefit of us all.
If you reflect on what you said Paul you just might agree with me.
On behalf of myself as Events Director I am always very grateful for all the volunteers who come forward to help us on any event to make them the success they are.

This what this Club is best at.

By the way my cars only fire in on 4 and my bikes on 2.
