nah, not interested in the slightest [;)]. Oh go on then, let's have a look. Stupidly I didn't really get any decent pics of recent remedial work done to mine - new sills both sides and both front wings repaired with new metal. Looks blooming lovely though, parked outside the office in the sunshine.

Hurrah [:D] and finally (that was a long two weeks)

I know that if you are happy then they have done an absolutely first class job and I look forward to seeing it in the flesh (Dyno Day perhaps [;)])

Are you going to put the pics on that website you mentioned you had reserved?

Yup thats the website, its pretty much done just need some more pics of the car mid refurb and then finished....but...
they just called.....only ready tommorow... been roadtested all done... they are still polishing though and then the stone foils and rear Porsche sticker badge and the rubbing strips...if they don't have it ready for tommorow i will be even more sulky than i am now..the anticipation is killing me arrgh!![&:][:D][:D]
I want it back Waaagh!!![:D]
P.S Paul you were right about bodyshop estimated time to completion estimates!!![:D]

Fantastic news!

I've been on the phone to the council and I've scheduled this winters first gritting session to start at 2:01 [:D]

:ROFLMAO:!!
Apart from the turbo badge at the back being in the wrong place it looks ace!I will get the pics sorted.

Errr, slight technical hitch, after a faultless drive back to work from Nottingham(to Leicester) then on my way home from work the engine just decided to die on me,did it two or three times after that, refusing to refire straight away, leaving me a bit stranded, after furious cranking it would just about start (thank god battery is ok...)is this a symptom of impending DME failure or has something to do with taking the car to bits/being unused for so long....any ideas??[:(]

That will be the grit Paul has had put down by the local council.[:D]

Or more than likely the DME Relay, worth swapping it I suppose

Not the DME,swapped it with my spare, it started the first time, then when started the second time it dies[:(],any ideas anyone?Turns over beautiful but hesitant to fire and start and idle...gonna call the AA out tommorow, just incase its something simple, worked without fault before the bodyshop so its a bit frustrating to say the least, just want to drive the thing...

There was another fellow on here with a similar-sounding problem a few days ago - not sure what he traced it to (if he did.) A quick search for threads (a search on "DME" would probably do the job) could be a good idea.

Oli.

Hi Mark

I'd be looking at the idle control valve or AFM. The ICV could be sticking after a lengthy layoff. The AFM could be worn or sticking.

Not sure how long it been out of action but is the fuel still OK? just a thought.

Been off the road for thirteen weeks or so i think,it drove from Nottingham to Leicester without missing a beat then started to play up as i left work,i don't think its the fuel?Be interesting to see what it is...[&o]

Just managed to get it going again by flooring the throttle to the carpet, and turning the key,bit of smoke out the back she is now idleing fine and restarts fine too, very puzzling[>:]

So i take it up the road, thinking maybe this is a temporary glitch,go to give it some minor beans massive hesitation as the power comes in,half a mile up the road the engine dies and then stops, five or six goes on the starter, she then fires up,head for home with "maybe its the fuel?" ringing in my ears so i fill the rest of the tank up from halfway, starts fine at the petrol station drive home..at this rate my starter motor is going to wear out..grrr[>:]

Hi Mark I have rebuilt my 944T and at first it was running a dream and now after nearly 400 miles I am getting the same synptoms with my car , on boost it holds back and even back fires as if there is fuel starvation , if I squeeze the peddle gently then not to bad , but it I floor the accelerater pedal then it sounds awful and does not develope ! So I really do feel for you pal ! Can anyone advise any good rolling road tune up place for the 944 Turbo in the North West area ? Best of luck with your car Mark and please share any findings

Cheers mate, its in a local garage as we speak so hopefully they will have some news tommorow, what i am dreading is they say "it runs fine now we couldn't find a fault...",sorry i don't know any garages up your way that i have had any experience of except for Tech 9 in Hale village Merseyside??,if you want to get a nagging glitch sorted with a Turbo you could always call Promax in Milton keynes they have a pick up service, they would deffo be able to fix it.Maybe someone else will know someone more local, best of luck with yours.
