Getting my car back!

ORIGINAL: J.C944TurboMan

Hi Mark I have rebuilt my 944T and at first it was running a dream and now after nearly 400 miles I am getting the same synptoms with my car , on boost it holds back and even back fires as if there is fuel starvation , if I squeeze the peddle gently then not to bad , but it I floor the accelerater pedal then it sounds awful and does not develope ! So I really do feel for you pal ! Can anyone advise any good rolling road tune up place for the 944 Turbo in the North West area ? Best of luck with your car Mark and please share any findings

Wayne Schofield would probably be able to help - he's near Oldham somewhere and is something of a 944t chip guru. Has a rolling road too..

It might take a while to get hold of him as he's always busy!

Tel - 07977 004476

Good luck![:)]

Would seem my car is fixed, they fixed a dodgy light (earthing problem??)test drove it for 20 miles and all is well....,turbo badge at the back is getting moved to the correct position (was refitted after the respray far too low[>:]) which has been bugging me,so should be ready tommorow....again...[:)]
Not sure what was up with the car,but seems to be ok now..

What's the verdict after another couple of days Mark, have they fixed it? Seems odd that a poor earth on the tail light would cause the car to cutout [&:]

+1 on the piccies - hurry up with your website [:D]

I went in to have a look at her in Leicester's workshop with tail turbo badge sorted-much better!,they were also getting me in some plastic caps(5) for the "A" pillar trims that mysteriously went missing during the refit leaving really ugly holes in the trim,i asked them also to get me another complete "A"pillar black trim for the passenger side as that side seems to have a slight dink from being refitted, and horror of horrors apparently it is now no longer available.....sign of things to come?[&o]so we are making do with a heat gun repair, they are also having a look at the ventilation system and recharging the A.C whilst its in there.Really hoping the running glitch has worn itself out and gone away.Should (hopefully) have the website and tons of pics of the whole process up begining of next week.
Car does look lovely even if i say so myself just want to get driving it now before the weather gets really wintery, want to avoid going out in all that salt[:D]

P.S really enjoying a programme on Youtube called "Wheeler dealers" its brilliant this guy buys cheap modern classics e.g Pug 205 gti, porsche 924,928,911,plus loads of other stuff and you get to watch them being brought back to life and "restored" on a budget,it is a bit cheesy but great fun.

Usually repeated every few weeks on Discovery or Turbo etc on TV. Mike Brewer and the geezer who built those motorised sofas etc. As you say, some great modern classics being 'reborn' in that series.

Glad to hear the car is coming together but stop teasing and post a couple of bloody pics, OK?!![:D]

You're lucky the plugs are still available, Mark. The blue ones were unavailable some years ago and my car has some black ones from when it still had such fripperies bought for it.

Wheeler Dealers as in the satellite TV show with Mike Brewer and Edd China? That's a classic, and Edd is way cool - I used to see him on the M4 driving his "front room" on occasion when I worked in Slough.

Could you somehow paint some black ones?? I have 3 spares if you want one to experiment.[:)]

Here is a pic,website will be a while(2-3 weeks)

Now where did I put my sunglasses [8D]

So are you coming to the Dyno Day on Saturday and are you bringing the shiny red one or the shinier black one? [8D]

That looks great Mark. I had better get a few more layers of polish on mine to play catch up in the shiny stakes [:D]

Really pleased how it has turned out,it now looks exactly like it used to- mirrors,no sticker for example,i am being a bit overly protective of it which is a bit worrying and i must start using it like i used to,the black paintwork is a bit delicate though i put a pushchair in the boot and must have just brushed the paint and i saw a mark and had to polish it out,but thats black paint for you looks lovely but really soft...musn't drop my sponge when washing it![:D]

Just drive it you big Jessie [:D] (preferably down to Bournemouth tomorrow so we can drool on it). Mines done over 2000 miles since it left the bodyshop and only has several dozen marks on her so there is nothing to worry about
