Grand Tour on Amazon

Hi guys

for those not aware the very first episode of 'Grand Tour' was aired today and I have to say the boy's nailed it... Brilliant...loved the start which I won't go into as I don't want to spoil it for anyone but will say that I did exactly the same thing 9 years ago when I landed at LAX and with the same marque of brand new car, although of course, today's version has advanced a little, sound's exactly the same, though, pure American muscle. This is going to be a great show.....can't wait for next weeks episode...:)

OMG I thought this forum was for Porsche enthusiasts who appreciate the skill of design and manufacture and the joys of owning Porsche cars. If it's to degenerate into an appreciation of jean wearing, geriatric, arrested adolescents playing silly b*gg*rs encouraging youngsters (It is aimed at the average 10 year old) to drive irresponsibly I don't want to be part of it.

well that's simple then, don't watch it...the rest of us can enjoy the show and the cars tested.. this week the 918 did very well. I know that Clarkson isn't to everyone's taste but unless you've met the guy in person then you can't really comment or judge. All 3 are brilliant and great people, very funny as tonight's show proved.....some just don't get it.....

Enjoyed it - much better first episode than Top Gear's. Looking forward to seeing what the rest of the series brings.

you are too predictable roger, I guess you don't have many friends?...you should watch the program, you may learn something, such as the most powerful and lightest of the 3 cars put 'head to head' wasn't the fastest. There are many things that contribute to being fast, anyway, i shall ignore all further posts from you, you clearly like confrontation, perhaps when/if you grow up, one day you may appologise to the number of long standing members on this forum who you've been rude too.....i won't hold my breath though.....

Oh dear. I watched it and quite liked it (although mainly for the thumping great dig at Auntie at the start).

I feel slightly guilty now. [:(]

Bye! ;-)

Loved it...And there was some solid Porsche porn as well.

I see that it has broken Amazon's record for number of viewers for a new program and also IIRC a ten-fold increase in new subscriptions to Amazon 'Prime' It was good to have the boys back, they work very well together and the quality of photography far surpassed anything seen on BBC, I'm sure that it will only get better too....some fun, car-related TV again...at last.

I'll say it again (It's very valid).... SUPERB!

As Gerry's description suggested some of us have moved on somewhat from the tedious predictable Ex Top gear presenters ploys and adventures which
used to be funny (when it was original), buy this was a long time ago and some of us do progress , move on, learn new things and find others subjects more entertaining!

It's celebrity TV on car's, Don't tell me your watch the non automotive stuff too ? Celebrity out here and Strictly!

One thing that is fast is the Tosh you come out with! You sound like some Ex Military Head master from the 70's!
You may learn something Roger, I guess you don't have many friends, you clearly like confrontation, perhaps when you grow up, you should apologise to the long standing members etc.... What the heck are you on???

You should hear hear yourself sometime! and your mentioning the word Rude!

OMG ! Kettle pot black etc...

I could easily give you a mouthful back and then some, but I'll not lower myself to your level.

I guess this is why we put general topics in the "general" forum, not the 944 forum!

Night all, let's all play nicely tomorrow. [:(]

While The Grand Tour was good, watching for updates from certain posters on this forum is possibly even better entertainment. Maybe Amazon could offer subscriptions on Prime for this too? [:)]

Excellent ! let's start with a £25 Deposit joining fee to My Paypal address : howtowinfriendsandinfluencethem.com

I had a brief chat with the Hooligan Jez at the metropole hotel in the bar, he was fairly drunk and doing the Autosport Live action arena shows at the NEC the next day.
He was with Sniff Needell at the time and several blonde dancers all of them playing tequila slammer games...
