Gratuitous 944 Pics

I agree on the colour not being the primary concern, at least on older or rarer cars. The Cherokee is black purely by coincidence and I'd even have bought it if it had been red [:-]. Both MX5s were black by coincidence also, the turbo one especially. The RS6 was more by design I guess as the black paint and blacked out chrome made it look a lot more menacing than the other colours available and there were enough of them around new enough that I could have had any colour I fancied.

When I buy a Wrangler then black will be preferred, but not ahead of some other features.

My that looks good on those wheels! Is your car lowered 'cos it looks just right.

Yes she most certainly is - they do look good lowered imo especially with larger wheels.

Are those genuine Cup 1s

Sadly not, merely replicas courtesy of Design911 [&o]

He won't have any wheels left after he's sold me those D90's.

Sorry they've long gone !

The worst car I ever owned was a black one - Mk3 Golf GTi 8v.

To be fair they are pretty dismal whatever the shade !

But, as McNulters said, colour should be the last thing on the list of factors when buying a second-hand car.

Sadly reading many threads on the Porsche section of Pistonheads you would think thats the only consideration when buying a car ! [8|]

Oli
I'll drop you a note tomorrow.
LIL is black - so 2009 will herald great assotiations with black cars !

Must be in the wrong camp. I even prefer the D90's to the Cups. I can't remember the actual model name for the original forged Fuchs that the D90s were a copy of, but I thought they looked ok too. I had a set of those but gave them to my mechanic for services rendered.

Where in Suffolk were the first two pictures taken? Looks a bit like the back road between Raydon and Great Whenham?

I've no idea where the 3rd picture is, though your 944 does look great [:)]

First two pics were on the back roads near Ramsholt, the third down by the river at Shotley. Got the clear lens rear lights today courtesy of Richard (Wolfie 308) and they look great, hoping to get them fixed on over the Xmas break [:)].

Damn! I could have done with those, I got bored with a dremel and several lamp units and mostly broken plastic.
