GT3 awaits patiently!

Well after much deliberation etc etc etc, I have decided to chop the C4S X51 in for a GT3, just cannot believe how the motoring press/media are so unanimous in their praise for these cars. Had a run in both the Turbo & the GT3, and for me its got to be the GT3...Turbo is a great car no doubt, and if I was an everyday user as opposed to a second car/fun trip user then a turbo it would have been.
Still unsold on the tail spoiler on the GT3 but hey I can accept it, in the flesh the way the car is so hunkered down more than makes up for it. I know everybody raves about these in white, but I actually prefer the black, looks really menacing in the darker colour....anyway here she is patiently awaiting 28th April when I go to pick her up, delivery miles only so I shall have to be a little patient myself before we get going!

Thanks Chaps, yes Im pretty much looking forward to the 28th indeed. Need to plan some long distance trips to get the running in sorted out. This was one of the pics that pushed me into black, or maybe its just I got fed up of seeing the white 911GB in all the mags recently...and to think I always said I wouldnt have another black car, obivously I am so undecisive I really much be very much in touch with my feminine side!

Chris, Solid or Basalt Black ??

I can only begin to tell you the pains keeping Basalt clean gave me [&:][][:(][;)]
Loved it though when it was clean...

Basalt Black Gary....as you say not looking forward to the cleaning duties at all, but hey lets hope for a long hot & dry summer to help me out

absolutely stunning chris
i went for atlas grey after getting bored with silver after silver...yes it does take some effort to keep clean but several layers of zymol means its not too onerous and it looks stunning when done(like the black it almost is!!)

Excellent choice - congratulations! [:)]

It appears I didn't cancel my order for the TT so, despite passing on my slot, I have received a PDE invitation at Millbrook for it. The OPC are seeing if I can be booked for the GT3 instead so that I can decide whether I can live with it or just settle for the facelifted 997S. If it was a second car, the decision would be a no-brainer.

Great choice of colour - it looks great in black. If I could have one as a second car, I wish I would go for orange but I doubt it. [:D]

You know Sunil I would love a viper green one, but I just could not drive it round town and stuff without feeling totally self concious. I think you get away with the oranges and greens on a track car like the RS, but for everyday driving its a bit show offy ( if thats a word ) for me. To be honest though I applaud anyone that does go for bright colours, maybe I just need to grow bigger balls!!

I don't know what it is but I've got a thing for orange cars right now - well, the last couple of years.

The 997 looks great in orange, so does the Gallardo and, the GT3RS in black with orange highlights looks amazing.

Just for the record, I'm not really into bright colours. I prefer to keep a lower profile but sometimes I just feel like I should just go for it. That said, I won't buy orange unless it's a second car and essentially a toy! That means I can switch off the attention by tucking it away in the garage and taking the black 997 out instead. [:D]

I wonder if I'll ever own an orange car ...

Good choice. The new GT3 is just so tactile.

If you look at the rear spoiler in isolation, it can look extreme, but viewed as part of the overall motorsport design, it's just right and it is highly functional.

yes Oliver, Im still not sure about the rear spoiler, it looks great from square on behind, but many other angles its a little awkward to me, but getting more used to it. I think it also that in black the spoiler blends in better, ie its less obvious somehow, in white it seems to stand out more, funny how differant colours effect differant views

Im sure this car is a frustrated lap dancer...now she is flashing her ass at me!..wont be too long until we can have our private dance though!

Basalt balck it has to be every time with the current shape - cleaning is a real pig though especiall for those of us with minutes a week not hours to keep the *ing things clean

I thionk the body kit on the GT3 looks far better in Black than any other colour

Oh well deal done, picked it up on saturday. What a great car!...only been using 4-5k revs until run in, but you can really appreciate the power & noise. Cannot believe how much better it handles than the C4S I had, which was no slouch anyway. So right choice made, just need to get the miles on the clock so we can get around to 8k rev range and see what happens there!
Pic of the 'old' girl with the new...anyone who is after a C4S X51 should go and have a look at my ex...great car, and very sorry to see it go!...Its at top555, oakham.

Indeed Gary, couldnt have asked for better weather, drove back via Boston,Skegness,Goole, Hull etc, some good roads down there, but way too many speed camera's in Lincs!. Makes me feel very fortunate that in North Yorkshire we dont have any speed camera's, lets hope it stays that way.
